Now that CBS has approved The Amazing Race 5, local CBS affiliates in major markets are planning promotions to boost the Emmy-winning series, beginning with helping potential contestants get their applications completed before the quickly approaching October 8 application deadline.
ABC announces September 18 'Extreme Makeover' New York City open casting call

On the season premiere date of the hit reality show, "Extreme Makeover," an open casting call for future makeover candidates will be held in New York City's legendary Roseland Ballroom. "Good Morning America" will kick off the casting call with live telecasts from the casting throughout their broadcast. The first 500 people have the chance of being interviewed on "Good Morning America." "Extreme Makeover" premieres on a new day and time, 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET, on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, on the ABC Television Network.

Although a formal series renewal has yet to be announced, CBS has officially begun accepting applications for a fifth edition of "The Amazing Race." Those interested in applying had better be quick however, as the application states that applications are due Wednesday, October 8 2003 for an anticipated January 2004 taping.

The Associated Press reports that Fox's American Idol 3 has added two new audition sites for the month of September: San Francisco, California and Honolulu, Hawaii.
ESPN kicks off auditions for 'Dream Job' sportscaster series premiering February 22, 2004

ESPN has announced the full open audition casting call tour for its new upcoming "Dream Job" sportscaster reality show. "Dream Job," billed as "The Search For The Next SportsCenter Anchor!" will be an "American Idol"-style competition show in which the contestants which they will be brought to Bristol, Connecticut ESPN headquarters, to complete in a number of sportscaster-related activities.
NBC announces plans for 'Who Wants To Marry My Dad? 2,' begins accepting applications

During last night's "Who Wants To Marry My Dad?" reunion special, host Mario Lopez announced that based on the success of the show, NBC and the Nash Entertainment production company have decided to do a second edition of the program.
