Sorry ladies, but it looks like new ABC Bachelor Bob Guiney is off the market. In a bit of an unusual move, Guiney, the star of the fourth edition of ABC's The Bachelor program that premieres this evening, is being rather forthcoming with the entertainment media that he found love on the show.

Like Rehn, Guiney also says that part of what attached him to taking a chance on returning to the series in a starring role was the idea that, by benefit of his previous appearance on national television, he'd know from the beginning that all 25 women on the program were personally attracted to him. "Conventional dating hadn't worked for me up until this point, so maybe unconventional dating would," Guiney told the Chicago Sun-Times. "I kind of liked the idea of meeting people from all over the country at one time, especially if they already knew who I was and were there specifically to meet me. I kind of thought that would be a neat thing to try out."
Another point Guiney considers in his favor? The fact that he was the "fat guy" when he first appeared on television this past winter due to months of inactivity following reconstructive knee surgery. "I've always been an athlete. That was the first time in my life that I'd been heavier than I would have wanted," he told Zap2It.com. "It just happened to play out in front of 20 million people. "From that standpoint, I think it's a huge compliment to me that even when I was in the worst physical condition of my life and probably wasn't looking my best, they still felt my character and personality were [strong enough] to make me the Bachelor."
Putting to rest the rumors that he'd been put on a diet or had plastic surgery before returning to the airwaves tonight, Guiney tells TV Guide that the ability to resume his normal athletic activities is the simple reason for his 30 pound weight loss in the 10 months since The Bachelorette was taped -- and a change that perhaps series producer Michael Fleiss might have preferred not happen. "I don't know if cosmetic surgery would be necessary to lose 30 lbs. over the course of 10 months. I never had any type of cosmetic surgery." "I lost 30 lbs. over the course of 10 months just by being able to play basketball and racquetball again. That's basically what I had always done until I screwed my knee up. I wasn't dieting." "If [Bachelor producer] Mike Fleiss and the guys got what they wanted, they would prefer 'Fat Bob.' But I never thought 30 lbs. was considered obese!"
