Katharine McPhee wants music fans to know she's more than the demure diva they saw on "American Idol."

"I'm young," McPhee said. "I like to have fun and party and show my spirit, so that's what the whole record is about.
"People think they know you so well on 'Idol,' but some people are better at showing that (personality) than others. I personally stuck to being very professional and very put-together on 'Idol.' Now I can be a little bit more myself."
