The 40-year-old singer sang his new single "Every Time I Hear That Song" as absent girlfriend Gwen Stefani watched from home on Wednesday night.

"Watching this guy @blakeshelton #cmtawards gx," Stefani captioned a photo on Instagram of herself and Shelton.

Shelton was nominated for Male Video of the Year for "Came Here to Forget," but lost to Keith Urban for "Blue Ain't Your Color." He gushed about Stefani, who watched the awards show with her sons and dad, in an interview Tuesday on Today.

"We're just content and happy, and it's just an incredible feeling," the star told host Hoda Kotb.

"Our hobby is just hanging out together," Shelton said of their typical day. "We're best friends."

Shelton and Stefani confirmed their relationship in November 2015 following splits from their respective former spouses, Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale.

The couple have since appeared together on "The Voice," although Stefani is reportedly leaving the NBC reality TV competition.

"I've looked ahead. This is like those 'Harry Potter' movies. Characters you think are gone, then they come back," Shelton told "Entertainment Tonight" in May of Stefani and Alicia Keys' rumored departures.

Shelton last released the album If I'm Honest in May 2016.

The album includes "Every Time I Hear That Song" and "Came Here to Forget," along with "She's Got a Way with Words" and "A Guy with a Girl."
