Top Chef: Just Desserts will follow pastry chefs as they compete against each other in a series of confectionary-themed challenges.
Casting for the series will commence on October 26 in Chicago and continue over the next few weeks -- with additional stops in Washington, D.C., Boston, Atlanta, New York, Boston, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Portland. More information is available via Bravo's website.
Top Chef: Just Desserts is the second Top Chef spinoff Bravo has ordered. Last summer, it orderedTop Chef Masters, which pits critically-acclaimed chefs against each other in a tournament-style competition. Top Chef Masters' first season subsequently aired earlier this year and was won by Rick Bayless. It was renewed for a second season last week.
Bravo also has two additional Top Chef projects in development: Top Chef Junior, a teenage culinary competition it first announced in 2008, and a new docu-reality series starring former Top Chef fifth-season finalist Fabio Viviani.
Bravo renewed Top Chef for a seventh season earlier this month and is currently casting for the new edition. TopChef's sixth edition -- dubbed Top Chef: Las Vegas -- premiered in August and is currently airing.
Top Chef: Just Desserts will be produced by Magical Elves, with co-founders Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz -- the same duo behind Top Chef and Top Chef Masters -- serving as the show's executive producers.
