Spears has denied reports claiming she stormed off The X Factor set in Austin, TX on Thursday because a contestant sang a terrible rendition of her own hit single "Hold It Against Me."

"Britneywalksoff??? LOL was just taking a little break people," the new second-season The X Factor judge tweeted Thursday night. "I am having the BEST time!!!"

A representative for The X Factor, which will air its second season in the fall, backed the 30-year-old pop singer's rebuttal.

"She just took a short break," the spokesperson for the Fox reality singing competition told Access Hollywood.

Reports Spears walked off the show's set first surfaced on Thursday afternoon when TMZ reported she left the judging panel after the contestant's performance got her upset. She reportedly did not return to her seat right away and absent for four contestants' auditions following the incident.

In addition, Us Weekly reported Spears had appeared "uptight" and exhibited "reserved" body language prior to her departure from the judges' table, while judges Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and fellow newcomer Demi Lovato reportedly were acting in an opposite manner.

"Demi, Simon and L.A. seemed very relaxed and engaged with contestants and audience [giving] "pointers and honest critiques," a source told Us.
