The new reality series will follow The Surreal Life 2 roommate and CHiPs freeway patrolman Eric Estrada, professional skateboarder and Jackass star Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, The Osbournes star Jack Osbourne, former WWE wrestling champion Trish Stratus and singer La Toya Jackson as they work their way through police training and find themselves on patrol in Muncie, IN, a city of nearly 70,000 residents located 60 miles northeast of Indianapolis and home to Ball State University.

As they become actual reserve police officers of the Muncie Police Department -- which CBS said fully cooperated with the series -- the five celebrities will partake in police training that includes everything from learning hand-to-hand combat and how to use a firearm to experiencing what it feels like to be the recipient of a stun gun's taser shock.  Once their training is complete, the celebrity cops will be issued badges and guns as they are partnered with veteran officers and immediately put to work on the streets of Muncie.  Once on patrol, the celebrities will respond to emergency calls, help victims and make arrests on the department's busiest shift of the night, from 6PM until 2AM.

Armed & Famous is produced by Tom Forman (Extreme Makeover:  Home Edition), Jeffrey Kramer (Ally McBeal) and Michael Braverman (Jesse Ventura's America) for Tom Forman Prods. and Good TV, Inc. Braverman, a Muncie native, also created Armed & Famous.

Following its premiere, CBS will air a special original broadcast of Armed & Famous on Thursday, January 11 at 8PM ET/PT.  The reality series will move to its regular time period of Wednesdays at 8PM on January 17.
