E! has announced the premiere of The Simple Life's fifth season, which will follow reunited best friends Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as they work as counselors at five different camps over the course of five weeks.

Titled The Simple Life Goes to Camp, the fifth season of the reality series is scheduled to premiere on Memorial Day -- Monday, May 28 at 10PM ET/PT -- before moving to its regular time period of Sundays at 10PM ET/PT the following week.

The five camps the 26-year-old hotel heiress and 25-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie will attend are definitely not the traditional summer camps kids normally enjoy.  Instead, The Simple Life's fifth season will have Hilton and Richie working at a couples camp, drama camp, survival camp, beauty pageant camp and wellness camp, according to Reuters.

"All the camps were completely different. We would have to do all the challenges that [the campers] would have to do. We had to stay with them in the same rooms, so basically we were living the camp life," Hilton told The Associated Press on Monday.  "It was hard, you know, not having cell phone service, being away from our friends and our family, but we had each other, so that was a lot of fun." 

"We actually didn't prepare, which I guess was a problem because we were wearing heels and just not camp-appropriate things," added Richie.

The wellness camp Richie and Hilton worked at was overseen by fitness guru Susan Powter, and she made sure they were treated the same as all of her other staff members.

"We gave the campers enemas," Richie told Reuters.  "We did it outside, so that was a lot of fun.  It probably wasn't that fun for [the campers], but it was definitely interesting. It was something that I never thought I would do before."  Chris Alexander, a spokesman for The Simple Life's producer 20th Century Fox Television, told Reuters that Powter ordered the enemas because "she believes the first step in wellness is cleaning yourself out."

"You'll see it on camera," Alexander told Reuters. "It's probably a 10-minute sequence, which according to the producer of the show will have you on the floor laughing."

Richie and Hilton had a well-documented on-again/off-again friendship for a while that was rekindled in October, after which E! announced a few days later that a fifth season of The Simple Life would begin production.

"We've been best friends since we were two years old. I've don't have any friend I've had as long as Nicole. She's my sister," Hilton told The AP.  "Everyone has a fight, you know, it's just not going to be publicized, you know, and have things construed and changed around. You know, we're friends. We know the truth. The media made up a lot of silly stories and you just have to not pay attention to it."

Richie agreed with her BFF that their feuding wasn't for public consumption.  "We just had a falling out and it happened to be public. It wasn't my choice at all. And the fact that we're friends again, the fact that that's public isn't my choice at all," she told The AP.  "I mean, we're human beings and we get into fights, and, it happens. Well, we had one fight in 23 years, so I guess that's a good thing."

After filming five seasons of The Simple Life -- which has seen its stars live on an Arkansas farm, take a road trip while working odd jobs, serve as interns at various companies, and even play homemakers for different families across the country -- both Richie and Hilton said they have learned from their experiences.

"It's funny because a lot of people, as close as they are, when you spend so much time with someone, it's like you see habits that you know, you're just like, "Ugh, I can't spend this much time with someone,'" Richie told The AP.  "But I love spending time with her and we have so much fun and, you know, I really just look at it as nothing but fun."

The Simple Life Goes to Camp marked the first time both Richie and Hilton ever went to camp, as neither attended one as a child.  While they valued the experience, it's apparently not one they plan on repeating anytime soon.

"I didn't really like the camp life... I'd rather go to Europe for the summer," Hilton told The AP.
