The Bachelor star Grant Ellis has shared how he approached saying the L-word once his feelings for one or more women reached that point on the show's 29th season.

"My plan was to go in and lead with my heart," Grant told Us Weekly during a recent interview.

"I know I'm a pretty sound thinker and I use logic, but emotions are a different thing."

Grant suggested that he was careful not to lead any of the women on but that became increasingly more difficult as the season progressed.

"It's very hard in this role when you develop feelings and then tell people how you feel," Grant explained.

"You're honest and sincere, and you try not to hold back -- because that's the way you find your person -- but it's easy to be villainized because you don't want to lead anybody on."

Grant noted how a man "dating multiple women" at once "is already at a disadvantage."

"You just have to be careful and see where the cards fall," Grant noted.

Although Grant had to hurt three of his Final 4 bachelorettes, he apparently managed to get through the whole process with his head held high.

"I don't think I felt guilty in the sense of developing feelings," Grant clarified. "I felt guilty for letting somebody down."

Grant's Final 4 bachelorettes on The Bachelor are Dina Lupancu, Juliana Pasquarosa, Litia Garr and Zoe McGrady.

Once Grant meets the women's families and has overnight Fantasy Suite dates, he'll have to choose just one woman to be his lifelong partner.

Grant shared of his final choice, "I don't live with regret. I'm very happy, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Previews for the end of Grant's The Bachelor season have teased that he was extremely torn between his Final 2 bachelorettes.

In a preview that aired at the end of The Bachelor's fifth episode, Grant says, "I love both of these women, equally, but I can only choose one."

Grant's father apparently advises him to go with his heart and choose the woman who's right for him.

"I went to bed last night thinking I knew what I wanted, but I woke up and I realized that I still don't," Grant admits to the cameras.

The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer proceeds to tell Grant ahead of the Final Rose Ceremony, "Both of the women are on their way here right now. I really need to know which one to send first. Do you feel like you know what you want to do?"

"The truth is," Grant replies, "I don't know."

Grant surprisingly denied that he was conflicted ahead of the Final Rose Ceremony in a late January interview with Parade.

"I don't think it was hard for me to choose. I think the hard part was letting somebody down," Grant said at the time.

But Grant recently confirmed on the "Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe" podcast that he had a very "difficult" time at the end of his The Bachelor journey and hurting one of his Final 2 women was "the hardest part" for him.

Grant said "the ladies were so great" at the end of the season that his final choice was a struggle.

"The Final 2 were both amazing women, and I had a really hard time. Getting down to that last moment with Jesse and he's like, 'You have to make a decision,' it was something that was hard for me," Grant told Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Grant admitted he's "an emotional guy" and he "didn't want to let somebody down."
