Jennifer Lopez says she's uncertain whether she will return to American Idol's judging panel next season.

"This is the question of the hour. I don't know. I don't know, I haven't been forced to make a decision, and I'm glad about that because honestly, I'm very kind of on the fence about it," Lopez said during an appearance on a BBC Radio program in the U.K..

"I had an amazing time doing it and I loved it, but I have a lot of other things happening. It's going to come down to making a choice of what I really want to do for the next year. We're not really at the breaking point of like, 'You have to make a decision right now!' So, I'm not. I'm really enjoying the time of just waiting and seeing."

Lopez and fellow Idol judge Steven Tyler both joined American Idol as part of last season's judging-panel shakeup.  However, unlike Tyler -- who signed a multi-year-contract -- Lopez's judging deal was only for one season, prompting speculation that her "on the fence" comments may just be a negotiation tactic.

According to reports, the singer and actress received $12 million to serve as a member of Idol's tenth-season judging panel.

Although Lopez has allegedly yet to make up her mind about an Idol return, she said she got emotionally involved and formed close bonds with the contestants on the show -- an experience that would make her potential decision to leave American Idol a tough one.

"You can't help it. I'm a person, they're people. We're kind of in this thing together where you get to know them. You get to know their hopes and their dreams on-camera, off-camera... It's this crazy ride that you go on together and you definitely get involved. I definitely get involved. I'm very emotional obviously, as you can see from the show, but that's just who I am," Lopez added.
