Jersey Shore's cast will be partnering with Architecture for Humanity and encouraging viewers to contribute and donate money to the rebuilding of Seaside Heights, which served as the filming location for most of the hit reality show's seasons. Restore the Shore will broadcast live from MTV's Times Square Studio on air, online and on mobile.
Restore the Shore will attempt to collect donations targeted specifically at rebuilding the famous Seaside Heights boardwalk along with supporting residents and businesses who have experienced great damage from the storm. Viewers will be provided with online and mobile tools for donating both during and after the special airs.
Architecture for Humanity is a non-profit organization that "provides design and construction services to communities in need," according to the network. "Architecture for Humanity has been helping communities rebuild after natural disasters for more than a decade, including major efforts in Biloxi and New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010."
