Josh Strobel was a 22-year-old from Rexburg, ID, when he met Aleksandra Iarovikova, a 21-year-old from Kirov, Russia, in Prague, Czech Republic, while Josh was on a Mormon mission and Aleksandra was attending Metropolitan University Prague.
Aleksandra was an atheist who converted to Mormonism for Josh. The couple kept in touch after Josh's mission and began dating. Josh then proposed to her in 2015 when visiting.
Soon after her arrival in the United States, Aleksandra and Josh got married in August 2015. They welcomed a daughter Kaya in March 2016.
In early 2018, Josh started medical school at the University of Queensland in Australia, and the family moved to be with him.
