Julianne Hough has finally opened up about her romantic relationship with Ryan Seacrest.

After dodging questions and rumors in regards to their dating life for months, the former Dancing with the Stars dancer and American Idol host have confirmed they are dating.

"I could not be happier," the 22-year-old Hough told People on Monday. "Everything is wonderful."

The couple has been linked since the summer and made a public appearance at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game late last month, but Hough has waited until now to come clean.

"We are very compatible," Hough said of 35-year-old Seacrest.

Hough has been promoting the upcoming movie Burlesque, which will represent her film debut -- but she said her relationship with Seacrest is still one of her top priorities.

"The things that matter most to me -- you just make time for," she explained. 

Hough said dating a famous face like Seacrest poses a challenge, but she doesn't let it stand in her way of making the relationship work.

"People I have dated in the past, even though they have had a status of some sort, it was never like this," Hough noted. "But when it's worth it, it's worth it."

Hough and Seacrest have also already even met each other's families.

"He just fits right in with the family," Hough's brother and fellow Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough told People in October.

Hough said she was happy their families got along so well, as family is allegedly very important to the couple.

"It's a good feeling," Hough said. 

However, the dancer told Ellen DeGeneres that meeting each other's families was not as big of a deal as people portrayed it to be.

"Everyone's like, 'Oh, you met the folks!'" Hough explained during a Tuesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "It's like, 'I don't know -- Both of our folks are like our best friends so when we hang out, it's more like hanging out with friends.'"

Hough was also not shy to proclaim how romantic Seacrest has been throughout their relationship.

"Oh my gosh, he's phenomenal," Hough said. "He's really romantic -- He's not even in town, and I got in my car and there are flowers everywhere... just super sweet."

Hough recently turned 22 in July and said that Seacrest followed up with a similar surprise for her birthday.

"Like, flowers everywhere. I was almost embarrassed!" Hough explained. "You walk in and you're like, 'Is this my room? I don't even know.' I'm kind of embarrassed."

DeGeneres, a close Seacrest friend, had previously attempted to get Seacrest to confirm his relationship with Hough during a September appearance on his On-Air with Ryan Seacrest syndicated radio show.

However Seacrest had been reluctant to discuss his relationship with Hough -- who had previously brushed off questions about their relationship as well -- on-air at the time, forcing DeGeneres to believe he may not be too happy about her new conversation with Hough.

"I was told that he's going to be so mad," DeGeneres told Hough.

"He's like, 'Okay you have to call me after this, you know Ellen's going to pressure you, pressure you,' and I was like 'No, I'm sure she'll be nice,'" Hough replied.

"No pressure, I'm supporting and celebrating, that's what I'm doing," DeGeneres said.  "I have been trying to get him to meet a nice girl for a long, long time."
