A lipstick in Kat Von D's makeup line has been discontinued because of its offensive name -- for which its exclusive seller Sephora, a large cosmetics company, has issued a public apology.

"It has come to our attention that the name of one shade of lipstick we carry has caused offense to some of our clients and others. We are deeply sorry for that," Sephora, which carries Von D's "Painted Love" line, said in a statement obtained CTV News.
"Celebutard" is reportedly a slang term for a celebrity who is short on intelligence.
Von D, a former LA Ink star, is apparently not very sympathetic with those who took offense, as she tweeted, "At the end of the day, it's just a f------ lipstick," but then deleted it shortly afterwards, according to People.
Advocates have reportedly gathered more than 410,000 online pledges to abstain from using "retard."
