The personal injury suit against a McDonalds restaurant in Southlake filed by passing game coach Todd Haley claimed the incident happened in June, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Haley, his wife Christine, and their au pair, Kathryn Kelley, are seeking $1.7 million from the eating establishment and its franchise owner KBL Group and Ken Lobato.
In a prepared e-mail statement, Lobato was quoted as saying he had not seen the lawsuit but added the restaurant has strict quality standards. He said the franchise is conducting an investigation to get all the facts.
Haley's wife was breastfeeding her 6-month-old infant when she ate the salad and fears she may have passed the child a disease through her breast milk, the suit says. So far, the report said, neither woman has tested positive for any disease, but that both have been in counseling.
Lobato said the franchise is taking the complaint seriously and conducting a full investigation.
