The five couples who tied the knot at first sight are Camille and Thomas, Karla and Juan, Madison and Allen, David and Michelle, and Emem and Ikechi.
If at the end of the eight-week experiment a couple is unhappy, they can choose to split and part ways on "Decision Day."
The Married at First Sight broadcast began on Day 17 of marriage.
Karla and Juan were planning a toga party for their friends as Karla burned sage through their apartment to rid it of negative energy.
Emem and Ikechi brought Mexico back to Chicago with a colorful fiesta for their housewarming party.
Michelle and David were decorating for their party when she was admittedly "unsure" about her marriage. David complained about how Michelle wasn't communicating effectively because she didn't always answer his messages, but Michelle pointed out how they had different schedules.
"I'm trying really hard in my marriage. I just don't know where to go or what direction because it seems like everything I'm doing... does not get reciprocated or any acknowledgment. What else can I do? I don't really know," David lamented in a confessional.
After Madison was shown taking Allen to the gym and taking a special class, Allen thanked her for being a good motivator for him. Madison liked that Allen was doing things for himself and taking care of himself.
"I want you to be proud of your man," Allen said.
In exchange for gym time, Allen asked Madison if they could spend more time doing nothing together, such as watching a TV show on the couch.

At Camille and Thomas' pool party, Camille announced how Thomas was lighter skinned than she was used to dating as well as quieter and calmer. Camille had typically dated loud and boisterous men, but those past relationships didn't work out for her.
Camille said as she was getting to know Thomas better, her physical attraction to him was growing. Camille seemed optimistic that she and Thomas were headed in the right direction.
Thomas' twin brother asked Camille how she felt she was different from Thomas culturally, and Camille explained that they grew up differently and he liked going to a bar where there tended to be racial incidences.
During Juan's party, he shared how Karla needed to tell him what she needed and what bothered her or made her angry. Juan suggested he's not a mind reader.
Karla's friend told Juan to compliment Karla more and show her more affection. Juan explained how he worked two jobs and went to the gym every day and so it was hard to put his time into the relationship. Juan said he genuinely thought Karla was attractive and so he could definitely tell her that more.
Meanwhile, David asked Michelle's sister and best friend how he could do better and win Michelle over. He wondered what he could change and what Michelle needed. The girls advised David to do workout classes with Michelle or something more her style where she can be comfortable and let her wall down.
David's friend warned Michelle that if she didn't open up to David or reciprocate his effort, he was going to shut down.
David's friend also pointed out how David was trying to save money for a house he really wanted rather than blowing money on renting a place he didn't necessarily need. David's friend said that Michelle was throwing money away by renting while David was stacking cash, and Michelle said she understood.

Camille said she wanted to think she was deeper than being so focused on one issue, but at one point, Thomas guessed that she had dated light-skinned men in her past because she had light skin -- and Camille thought the comment was ridiculous and surprising.
During Emem and Ikechi's party, Ikechi announced how his wife was ambitious, beautiful, passionate, and a little aggressive.
"I'm from the South, so I'm used to a little different," Ikechi explained. "I'm used to just enjoying time together and not so much a series of questions or interview process that happens. I am used to a laidback person, and she is not that."
Ikechi insisted, however, he wasn't scared of his wife.
Emem then described her husband as smart, laidback, calm, creative and nonchalant.
Ikechi said he didn't like the connotation of "nonchalant," but then Emem's friend Krissy snapped how she didn't like the connotation of "aggressive."
Emem later complained in a confessional, "I think being called aggressive is a great misrepresentation of who I am, especially how I entered this marriage specifically. I did a lot of self-work on my vulnerability, and I've never been considered aggressive. So I am very shocked to hear something like that."
But Emem, who was admittedly a structured individual, said she was fully committed and ready to get to the hard stuff. She and Ikechi were also learning each other's communication styles. The group thought Ikechi and Emem's strengths and weaknesses were going to complement one another in their marriage.
When asked if he could see himself falling in love with Emem, he said he could enjoy himself enjoying Emem's company and "maybe" being in love.
Ikechi butt heads with Emem's cousin again and said he felt like he was on an interview. Emem's cousin wanted to hear Ikechi talk about combining finances and more, but Ikechi wasn't giving them the answers that they wanted.
"I think that Ikechi has a lot of excuses about time as a reason for not getting to know Emem better," Krissy told the cameras.
"That's honestly a red flag for me and I am concerned he's going to let more weeks go by and say, 'We still don't know each other.'"

On Day 18 of marriage, Madison made Allen breakfast but then she let him know that she was going to have a spa day with her girlfriends and he needed to leave. She told him that he could return to the apartment at 4PM.
However, Madison was actually planning a surprise 36th birthday party for Allen. She had a cake, balloons and snacks.
Allen gushed about how his wife was emotionally intelligent, open-minded, beautiful, driven and more. Allen just admitted he was slower paced than his wife and so he hoped she'd want to have slow days with him.
Madison revealed to Allen's friends how they weren't compatible at their core and she was having a hard time with knowing where Allen stood. Madison wondered if there were things Allen didn't love about her or wanted her to change. She wanted him to express himself more and be real with her if he wasn't happy.
Allen also vented to Madison's friends about how she sometimes made plans without inviting him. Allen said it was hard for Madison to live a marriage lifestyle when she had been single for so long, and her friends advised him to be honest and voice his concerns with his wife.
When Allen's friends asked Madison if she could see her marriage working out, she said it was too early to tell but that she and Allen had the same end goal.
After their party, David Cooked Michelle dinner. David said it hurt that Michelle wasn't into him but he was holding onto hope.
"Maybe something will change and you'll wake up on your side of the bed and say, 'I'm going to give it a try,'" David said.
Michelle acknowledged maybe that could happen and she wanted David to continue being himself. David also complimented Michelle's style, and she in turn asked him to wear fewer tank tops and get rid of his jean shorts. She wanted to "help" his look a little bit.
Michelle said David "killed" the dinner, and then he recommended that they should do another sushi dinner together.
"And then you can undress me," David quipped.

Before bed that night, Juan told Karla that his love language was acts of service, and Karla explained how hers was physical touch and she wanted more of that from him.
On Day 19 of marriage, the couples played flag football together and had some fun. However, Allen didn't show up because he said he was really hungover. David asked Madison to cut the guy some slack since it was his birthday weekend, but Madison was clearly upset.
Michelle shared with the ladies how she and David were doing a lot better and they stopped fighting and took the pressure off. Michelle said he's was just enjoying time with David.
Juan admitted to the guys he wasn't feeling "the organic chemistry" that Karla wanted him to feel. Juan said Karla was pretty and had sex appeal but he wasn't fully feeling it yet and so he wasn't giving her the affection that she desired.
Ikechi said he was trying to speed up his process as well, especially since Emem's loved ones were already asking him about joint bank accounts. Meanwhile, Emem's feelings were hurt about being called aggressive.
"I don't take kindly to that," Emem declared.
Madison shared that she was struggling about whether she and Allen could move into a romantic direction and she was "super frustrated" about how he took so many shots the night prior when he didn't need to.
"It might get ugly," Madison teased.
