Married at First Sight featured Mindy Shiben ending her marriage to Zach Justice before "Decision Day" after she caught him in a lie, Michael Watson infuriating Meka Jones with more lies, and Austin Hurd and Jessica Studer having their first fight during Wednesday night's episode on Lifetime.

An unprecedented five pairs of strangers were matched by returning Married at First Sight experts Pastor Cal, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Dr. Viviana Coles to marry on Season 10 of the Lifetime reality series.

Zach, a 32-year-old fitness professional from St. Mary's, GA, wed Mindy, a 34-year-old figure skating coach from Frederick, MD.

Michael, a 31-year-old education director from Washington, D.C., was shown marrying Meka, a 25-year-old category analyst from Baltimore, MD.

Jessica, a 31-year-old nurse manager from Oak Harbor, OH, walked down the aisle to Austin, a 31-year-old network technician from Maryland.

Brandon Reid, a 34-year-old sales manager originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands who was raised in Washington, D.C., wed Taylor Dunklin, a 27-year-old research scientist from Pittsburgh, PA.

Katie Conrad, a 26-year-old mental health professional from Woodbridge, VA, married Derek Sherman, a 26-year-old cyber security engineer from Maryland.

Married at First Sight, Episode 13

The Married at First Sight broadcast began with three weeks left of the extreme experiment. The five couples had 22 days to go until "Decision Day."

Jessica and Austin were shown going out to dinner. He admitted he was "crazy" about Jessica.

Not only was Austin excited to see Jessica every day and plan a future with her, but he also said, "It's all about her. Even the things she sees as flaws in herself, I find attractive."

The pair discussed where they should move and live once the show ends, and Austin revealed he tended to travel two weeks every month, with some trips lasting up to 10 days. Jessica confessed that would be "really challenging," but Austin noted it had to happen at some point in their marriage.

Austin explained adjustments would have to be made, and Jessica was caught totally off-guard.

Jessica didn't realize Austin would have to travel that much and she called it "an extreme." Jessica was concerned about sleeping alone and getting her marriage off on the wrong foot.

"The idea of commitment, protectment and safety is everything I feel with you. What would be the appropriate amount of time to say, 'I love you?'" Jessica asked.

Austin said he'd profess his love when the time felt right and he would never rush into saying those three words. Austin explained there's no timestamp on expressing love but that doesn't mean he wasn't feeling strongly for her.

Jessica admitted she was already in love with Austin but didn't want to be the first person to say it, especially if Austin's feelings for her were further behind.

"I'm pretty stubborn... so I guess this is where we're standing tonight," Jessica noted.

Michael appears to lie to Meka again

Meka and Michael then talked about finances as they held hands in bed. Meka showed Michael her paystubs and revealed what she made weekly, and Michael said that although he didn't have paystubs to show her, he could share the offer letter he had received that detailed what his salary would be.

Michael showed Meka the salary he was offered and then how much he'd actually take home after taxes are taken out.

Meka asked how he knew what would be withheld already, and Michael said he had discussed during the interview process what would be taken out for healthcare, dental and retirement.

"But this is, like, a double-digit difference. This is not, like, a small difference," Meka pointed out.

Meka said it was very clear to her that Michael was lying again and she's never received an offer letter that reveals what money will be made after taxes are taken out.

"Is this guy serious?!" Meka vented in a confessional.

"My brain doesn't miss a beat. I don't think he's ever been held accountable the way that I hold him accountable. So him trying to change the offer letter to be, like, a higher number, honestly, the offer letter was forged. And it's not really going to slide with me."

Meka asked Michael to clarify the situation, but he insisted there were some things he didn't understand and she'd have proof once he begins receiving paystubs.

Meka reminded Michael that she has a math degree and can't be fooled. She told Michael that she wouldn't be able to continue their marriage on "Decision Day" if he continued to be dishonest.

Meka told Michael he had promised her that he'd be honest going forward, so she was really upset. Michael thought the conversation should have ended with his offer letter and "that's it."

To give Michael another chance, she asked him to write down his salary before and after taxes, and Meka accused him of writing down the wrong number.

"I am at my breaking point right now. I need to step away from this because I'm not going to sit here and have a conversation with him when all he's doing is lying," Meka said in the bed while sitting next to Michael.

"That is not the number. He's going to keep writing down false numbers. He's just going to keep getting lower. Like, why not just be honest?!"

Meka walked out of her bedroom and called Michael a "weirdo," but he insisted the number he had written down was accurate.

Meka didn't want to be married to an alleged liar, and she said there was no point in repeating herself to her husband.

"That is who Michael is! There's nothing I can say to him to make him stop lying! He has committed to me at least 10 times now to stop lying, and he repeatedly lies every single time. Do any of you want to be with a liar?! Have him!" Meka yelled in a confessional.

Meka said she had tolerated Michael's lies long enough and he needed professional help, which was "beyond" her. Meka felt she didn't know anything about her husband, and she refused to be subjected to his alleged lies any longer.

Mindy talks about Zach with her friends

Meanwhile, Mindy was shown enjoying a lunch with her girlfriends. Mindy shared she had recommitted to Zach on "Recommitment Day," and her friends were shocked to hear Zach had decided the same.

Mindy explained Zach had promised to change and she planned to exhaust all options and hope before ended her marriage. Mindy wanted to see the experiment through, but her friends didn't appreciate Zach's lack of effort.

Mindy's pals believed Zach was putting on an act for the cameras and was a different person once production stopped filming.

Mindy said Zach had agreed to her non-negotiables, although he chose to sleep in the guest bedroom of their apartment the night prior. Mindy also revealed Zach had finally opened up about the "secret" he had on her, when he had accused her of lying.

"Zach made a big issue out of a non-issue. He somehow heard that my ex wanted to pick me up from the airport. And I said, 'Hell no, of course that did not happen! My best friend Shannie drove me home and got me right away,'" Mindy explained in a confessional.

Zach had apparently told Mindy that a person -- a friend of her ex -- had warned him at the wedding Mindy was talking to her ex and planning to see her former boyfriend again. Mindy said Zach had held this against her for a long time but it wasn't true.

Shannie then remembered something.

"You were on your way back from Panama and you told me that your ex-boyfriend had mentioned something about wanting to pick you up from the airport... I remember you saying he wanted to. And I had mentioned that -- to Lindsay," Shannie shared at the lunch.

Shannie therefore said Zach was lying about the informant because he was trying to protect Lindsay.

"He's deliberately lying to me to protect Lindsay. I feel incredibly betrayed. Clearly he doesn't care about me or else he wouldn't have done that. I can't take that anymore," Mindy told the cameras.

Taylor and Brandon go to dinner

Taylor and Brandon were then shown going out to dinner together on a date night and they were getting along well, finally.

Once the pair got into bed afterwards, Taylor complained about how Brandon rarely gave her compliments, and Brandon explained he was still trying to let his walls down after their arguments but he thought she looked amazing and was trying to re-open up again.

Mindy finally ends her marriage to Zach

That same night, Mindy was upset about how Zach had clearly been lying to her.

One of Mindy's non-negotiables was honesty and transparency going forward, so she needed more from her husband and wasn't okay with him lying to her.

Mindy invited Zach over to their apartment, and he said he was exhausted but happy and the effort and turnaround had been "worth it" for him.

Mindy said she had been feeling happy until spending time with her friends.

"I specifically asked you if the secret came from Lindsay," Mindy told Zach. "And today, I found out that you did lie to me."

Zach said he didn't want to seem influenced by other people and rumors coming in and was sorry for making things harder than they needed to be.

Mindy pointed out it wasn't okay to lie about details just to make things seem a certain way, and then Zach said he never should have mentioned the secret to begin with.

"I regret mentioning any of that to be honest with you," Zach admitted.

Mindy felt disrespected, but Zach insisted he had never intended to hurt her. Mindy said she took marriage very seriously and being unable to trust her husband felt "terrible."

"I don't want that. I told myself I was only going to let myself be disappointed like that one more time and that's it, so I can't subject myself to that. I'm sorry to say but I don't want to be in this marriage anymore," Mindy told him.

"I don't know what to say. I feel like I have a lot to say but I don't know what to say," Zach replied.

"I feel with the lack of transparency, it put you in a position where you had to make this decision, but I don't think I expected it."

Mindy told Zach that he's her husband and was intentionally concealing his friendship with Lindsay from her.

"You knew that at dinner when you were making judgments on camera about my character, basically calling me liar, saying that I had some secret. And I was going to forgive you for that. I did forgive you for that. That's big," Mindy explained.

Mindy didn't think Zach would lie to her after that, saying, "How do you do that to someone -- to someone who is basically giving you their heart?"

Mindy had nothing left to say and told Zach there was no reason for him to come back to the apartment. She asked him to leave his key and confessed to being "devastated."

Mindy said the experiment had turned out to be the exact opposite from what she had been expecting or hoping for.

"On top of that, I'm embarrassed my friends and family were right all along," Mindy noted.

"I wanted this so badly, and I was willing to do pretty much whatever it took to make it work. But what I've learned is no matter how much I wanted it, a marriage is not about one person and my husband did not show up to be any kind of decent partner."

Viviana meets with Derek and Katie

With 20 days remaining until "Decision Day," Dr. Viviana paid Katie and Derek a visit.

Derek explained he's a dreamer and remained a child at heart because he had to grow up fast and take responsibilities on early in life, which made him push his own goals and wants aside.

In a similar way, Katie had to grow up fast when her parents divorced because she was only 10 years old and subjected to a lot of fighting. While Derek said he held on to his dreams, Katie shut that side of her out entirely, which was why she reacted to strongly to his dreams.

Derek told Katie that he could help her find and embrace the inner child that never got to develop.

Mindy tells Viviana she's ended her marriage to Zach

Mindy then met with Viviana by herself and revealed Zach had been lying to her and she ended their marriage.

"Oh my goodness, so you actually cut it off?!" Viviana asked, smiling big with joy and relief.

"I don't have any doubts about this. I know I made the right decision," Mindy replied, before thanking Viviana for making her feel empowered to take control.

"I realize that Zach is just not the guy that's going to be a great husband for me, and I deserve that."

Mindy felt totally confident with her decision and said she'd never put up with such "bullsh-t" again. She felt stronger than ever rather than broken.

"I look forward for everything that's to come, especially a future that does not have Zach in it," Mindy said.

Viviana pointed out the levels of betrayal from Zach were pretty obvious and she was so glad Mindy stood up for herself. Viviana was so glad to see that Mindy still had a bright light inside of her and remained positive during difficult times.

Zach tries to spin things to Viviana

Viviana then met with Zach alone. Zach said he was doing well personally and had made a point to see Mindy every day after "Recommitment Day," including spending the night at her apartment once.

Zach hesitated to admit he and Mindy were separated, but when he finally did, he suggested Mindy's decision had surprised him since they had been on a good path.

"It's kind of a bummer to say the least. Honestly, day and night, my whole thought process was around, 'How do I fix this? How do I make it right?' It was all Mindy; It was all Mindy in our relationship," Zach explained.

"Did you lie to your wife?" Viviana asked.

"No," Zach replied. "I guess I would say [I was] very misleading or didn't communicate, but I wouldn't just say I was lying to her."

Zach explained he had attempted to brush a problem under the rug and firmly believed he had respected Mindy throughout their entire marriage.

"So how would you explain all the time and energy that went into talking with one of her best friends?" Viviana asked.

"I wouldn't say there was a ton of energy that was put into that," Zach responded.

But Viviana argued there were three people in this marriage when Zach should have been totally dedicated to Mindy, and Viviana said there was a loyalty towards Lindsay that should have gone to Mindy. Zach apparently didn't have much to say in reply.

Viviana meets with Jessica and Austin

On Day 19 of marriage, Viviana sat down with Jessica and Austin.

Austin said he was looking forward to a future with Jessica, but Jessica admitted she wasn't happy Austin was going to travel so much for work. Jessica, in fact, confessed to texting Austin words in caps as well as a curse word.

It was apparently the couple's first fight, and Austin said he was angry at the time as well.

Jessica was trying to show Austin her authentic self, the good and the bad.

In terms of love, Austin said, "We're very close to each other and both of us see us getting to that point."

"Yeah, some of us may already be there," Jessica confessed with a laugh.

Austin said he wanted to grow into love and saying love, and Viviana could sense some tension and awkwardness there. Jessica said they were both on the same page.

"I feel like I am at that point but I don't want to say it if he's not. I don't want to feel rejected... [or vulnerable]," Jessica shared. "I feel like I am there."

Jessica then opened up and said, "I do love you, Austin."

Austin said he had never felt this way about someone so quickly before but he needed "just a little bit more time" to say those three important words. Austin hoped Jessica could understand that, but she was frustrated and called Austin "stubborn."

Michael admits he lies to Viviana and Meka

With 18 days to go until "Decision Day," Meka was still at a breaking point with Michael and his alleged lies.

Meka told Viviana that Michael had not been honest about his salary, but Michael argued it was "not a black and white issue." Michael admitted there was some "embarrassment and fear" on his end because a previous job -- which would have paid much more money -- didn't work out.

"There was a bit of a panic and scramble to... be employed," Michael said.

Meka said it wasn't fair that Michael continued to lie to her and play the victim.

Meka explained there was a viscous cycle going on in that Michael wanted her to be vulnerable so he could tell the truth but she needed him to tell the truth in order for her to be vulnerable.

Michael explained he must have never fully processed the effects of not having his mother around, which manifested into most of the errors in his life.

Michael cried during the counseling session, and when he opened up, Meka moved closer to him on the couch. Michael explained he tried to make sense of things that didn't make sense just so he could move forward and build a life.

"When I was a kid and I found out I was adopted, there was a lot of, like, me creating my own narrative and creating this world for myself where I felt comfortable about who I was and what that meant for me," Michael confessed.

"I didn't want to be teased for not having a dad or not knowing your mom, so there were stories I definitely made up. And it's something that, in some ways, have manifested itself into me as an adult."

Michael said he needed to learn what he should and can let go, adding that his past needed to affect his present less because there is now distrust in his marriage.

"That is my fault and I accept that," Michael said.

Meka noted that was the first time Michael had opened up, and it was finally a piece of the puzzle she had been missing when it came to their problems. She appreciated that Michael shared his issues and shame with her, and so Meka was still willing to commit and progress their marriage.

Viviana told Michael that he was going to have to stick his neck out and change or else he'd lose Meka for good.

The couples revisit their upbringings

With 17 days to go until "Decision Day," Brandon took Taylor to his hometown in Washington, D.C. and showed her the basketball court where he grew up playing ball. The couple bonded as Brandon shared stories of his childhood, and Taylor really enjoyed that intimate time with her husband.

Since Derek moved around as kid and never lived in one house for more than three years, he kept a garage filled with memories and items from his childhood. He chose to share that with Katie and stumbled across a poem Derek had written for a girl his freshman year in high school.

The poem was so deep and meaningful that Katie struggled to believe he had never been in love before, but Derek said he was just envisioning what love would feel like.

"I don't think I've been in love before. I think I would know," Derek said.

Katie also discovered Derek had once snuck a girl into a circus to pet elephants for a date, and she got jealous, annoyed and discouraged that she saw that side of Derek when looking through his old belongings that he wasn't showing her in their marriage.

Katie wanted Derek to feel such lust, passion and love for her, and she was upset he wasn't planning her such exciting dates.

Derek acknowledged it was an awkward position for him to be in, but he still had hope he'd grow in love with Katie.

With 16 days to go until "Decision Day," Austin and Jessica enjoyed a beach day together and shared some significant things about their past with each other.

Austin shared how his love for baseball in college delayed the reality of his future, and Jessica teared up when talking about her beloved grandmother.

Meka meets with Michael's sister 

With only 15 days left to go until "Decision Day," Meka met with Michael's sister at a restaurant, and his sister explained Michael might say his lies are just exaggeration.

Michael's sister said that because of his past, he had probably built up walls as a form of protection since he had been rejected and teased so much in his life for being his true, authentic self.

Meka realized it made so much sense now why Michael constantly embellished about his life.

"It makes sense that now he's like, 'Well, when I was myself, nobody liked it, so let me create this person I want to be so that people like me,'" Meka acknowledged.

Michael's sister asked Meka to make a decision based on the potential she and Michael had as a marriage couple and to help him change, but Meka wanted to make a decision based on Michael's true self. Meka also wanted Michael to take accountability for what he had done wrong.

Mindy throws herself a divorce party

The episode ended with Brandon learning how to compliment Taylor and open up more and Mindy throwing a divorce party for herself. Mindy invited her friends over her place, and she didn't have a doubt in her mind that she had made the right decision.

Mindy said it felt awesome to have so much support, and she celebrated her newfound freedom. Mindy had found an inner strength that she didn't even know existed.

"This is a celebration of moving on, and Zach is history," Mindy told the cameras.
