Married at First Sight star Kirsten Grimes has admitted that she wasn't physically attracted to her groom Shaquille Dillon when they met for the first time on their wedding day.

"The attraction wasn't there," Kirsten revealed on Married at First Sight: Afterparty, which aired immediately on Lifetime following the new Season 16 broadcast.
On Afterparty, Kirsten watched back a Season 16 clip of Shaquille's reaction to his bride after she walked down the aisle during their wedding ceremony in Nashville, TN.
"God knew what he was doing when he made you!" Shaquille tells Kirsten when they're both standing at the altar.
But when it becomes time for Kirsten and Shaquille to seal their wedding vows with a kiss in the clip, Kirsten turns her head and gives her groom a friendly-pat hug, forcing Shaquille to kiss his new wife on the cheek.
Kirsten explained to Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam of the apparent diss, "I wasn't expecting a man that's bald. I asked for someone who had a low haircut and a low beard."
She added with a laugh, "[They gave me] no-hair low! And I was like, 'Okay, we'll see where this goes.'"
But Kirsten pointed out how Shaquille "didn't ask for a kiss," which also contributed to her spontaneous kiss-the-cheek decision.
"He didn't ask if he could kiss me or not!" Kirsten complained. "He should ask me. He should've asked me."
Keshia therefore asked Kirsten what she would have done had Shaquille politely asked to kiss her, and Kirsten reluctantly revealed, "I probably would've said, 'Yes.'"

Kirsten's co-star Nicole Lilienthal admitted that Kirsten probably should've just kissed her new husband.
"You never know. Your marriage started on a cheek kiss. I think you should've just gone for it," Nicole shared.
"Right, I know," Kirsten conceded.
Keshia noted how Kirsten had already jumped into the deep end by agreeing to marry a stranger, and so Kirsten quipped, "I should have just stayed out of the deep end."
Married at First Sight star Gina Micheletti also appeared on Afterparty and noted how she agreed with Nicole on this one.
"You should've just dove in. I mean, if a guy was telling me, 'God knew what he did when he made me,' I'd be going in for the kiss too!" Gina said.
Kirsten then confessed, "I guess it was because the attraction wasn't there, so that didn't make me want to kiss him."
But Kirsten said she's "always" believed "that attraction can grow" as two people get to know each other better.

Kirsten clarified, however, that she "definitely" felt emotionally connected to her husband once they were able to sit down and talk on their wedding day.
"The moment he started talking to me, I was like, 'He seems like he has a really good heart,'" Kirsten said.

Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Pepper Schwartz said they matched Kirsten and Shaquille due to the fact they're both well-educated, ambitious, religious and family-oriented.
Kirsten shared during the matchmaking process how she tends to be very picky in all aspects of her life, including her dating life.
"I definitely pick over men, too," Kirsten acknowledged.
When Shaquille got a good look at his bride for the first time, he admitted he was "stunned" and told the room full of guests that Kirsten is "beautiful."
Shaquille learned from Kirsten's family and friends that he was marrying the life of the party, a woman with an "intoxicating" energy and confidence as "a Black Queen."
And Kirsten was told Shaquille is "classy" in every way in that he's a good dresser and a polite man. Kirsten also discovered Shaquille has had a lot of success in his life.
In her self-written vows, Kirsten confessed she may be "a beauty or a beast" depending on the situation but she'd always show compassion and give him grace. She promised to express her true feelings and give the marriage her all.
Shaquille, in turn, vowed to his "newest best friend" that he'd respect her, and be her strength and joy whenever she's down or feeling weak. Shaquille said he'd keep their spark bright and be "lit" as a couple.
Following the ceremony, Shaquille confirmed that Kirsten was definitely his "type" in that she has brown skin and nice teeth, and he said he actually respected her giving him the cheek because it showed she has boundaries.

Little did he know, however, Kirsten just wasn't feeling him at the time.
"He's bald and he's younger than me, so that's two strikes," Kirsten complained in a confessional.
But Kirsten came around to her groom during their first chat. She appreciated how Shaquille enjoys sports and is a mentor. She could tell he's a good person who loves kids, and Shaquille thought his wife was extremely sweet.
"He has pretty teeth and his personality definitely outweighs his exterior look," Kirsten concluded.
Married at First Sight currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
