Discovery Life Channel has announced it will premiere New Girls on the Block, a new reality series which will follow a group of transgender women in transition from Kansas City, MO, on Thursday, April 2 at 10PM ET/PT.

New Girls on the Block will chronicle all friends -- some of whom are couples -- finding themselves and confronting issues with their femininity, relationships, families and friendships head on after struggling to finally accept and embrace their gender identities.
According to the network, Jamie, who has a partner Aiyana, faces opposition to her participation in competitive triathalon as a woman after leaving the military. Best girlfriends Kassidy and Chloe will experience many firsts together such as a double date with married couple Macy and Sharon. Robyn and Andrew are also best friends who fell in love after Robyn's change yet they're at odds over when to get engaged.
"Putting the real back in reality television, we are thrilled to introduce these lovable characters to our audience without a filter, serving as an inspiration to live our lives freely and full of humor, heart, and hope," said Jane Latman, the general manager of Discovery Life Channel.

New Girls on the Block is being produced by Conveyor Media in association with Reality Road. Jay James, Colin Whelan, Teri Rogers, and Matt Antrim serve as executive producers.
