The Sunderland family apparently isn't planning a reality series after all.

Sunderland spokesman Jeff Casher claims the family currently has no plans to star in a new docu-reality series titled Adventures in Sunderland, The Associated Press reported Monday.

On Sunday, Laurence Sunderland told The New York Post that he had signed a contract for a reality series weeks after his 16-year-old daughter Abby Sunderland left in January in an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in a sailboat.  He added the family had been filming for the last four months.

However Casher told The AP that he spoke to Laurence early Monday morning and he said a reality project had been discussed last year when Abby's older brother Zac -- a prior holder of the record for youngest person to solo circumnavigate the globe -- was sailing around the world, but nothing ever developed from it.

Magnetic Entertainment, a Studio City, CA-based production company, is still promoting a reality series -- as well as a documentary titled Abby's Journey -- on its website.

Officials from the company did not return The AP's Monday request for comment.

Abby ran into major problems last week when she was stranded in the Indian Ocean after a storm rendered her Wild Eyes sailboat inoperable. She was subsequently rescued by a French fishing vessel.
