Palin inked a contract in February with Montana-based production company Warm Springs, who put together a team -- including the executive who discovered court TV icons Judy and Joe Brown -- to pitch the show to television networks.
"It's a production deal. What happens next is she'll meet with stations, make a pilot and sell it," a source told the magazine, adding that if the show gets picked up, it would premiere as a nationwide syndicated daytime seres in Fall 2017.
Warm Springs reportedly first approached Palin with the idea last year although the bestselling author and former Sarah Palin's Alaska star doesn't have a law degree.
"Palin's telegenic personality, wide appeal and common-sense wisdom make her a natural for this kind of format and she was Warm Springs' top pick for this project," the source explained.
Palin starred in Sarah Palin's Alaska on TLC in late 2010. According to People, she is currently taking care of her husband Todd Palin who got into a serious snowmachine accident on March 13.
Palin's daughter Bristol Palin has also established a presence on reality television having competed on Dancing with the Stars and starred in her own spinoff Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp.
