Stephen Baldwin learned just how real reality television can be when he was reportedly bucked to the ground by a bull while filming CMT's Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge last Thursday.

"I held on for about four jumps, and then I just ate a bunch of dirt," Baldwin told Reuters in a telephone interview Friday.

A safety helmet apparently didn't help Baldwin, as he told Reuters he suffered a broken left scapula as well as a broken rib when he "landed hard" and "got stepped on a little bit, too" during the training session that ended with his fall.

"We were supposed to be on these kind of dainty versions of [bulls] that weren't supposed to get too excited," he told Reuters.  "But you never can tell what a bull's gonna do. So this particular one that I had kind of rose to the occasion."

Currently filming in Texas, Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge is scheduled to premiere Friday, August 10 at 9PM ET/PT on CMT and will feature Baldwin; rapper and actor Vanilla Ice; singer Leif Garrett; former American Gladiators star Dan "Nitro" Clark; mischievous Survivor: Pearl Islands' castaway Jonny "Fairplay" Dalton; former NFL star Raghib "Rocket" Ismail; Moto-X rider Kenny Bartram; Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Josh Haynes; and actor Francesco Quinn as they try their hand at bull riding under the tutelage of Murray, a seven-time All-Around World Champion and accomplished rodeo athlete.

However Baldwin may be one of the most recognizable members of the reality competition series' cast, as he's competed on ABC's Celebrity Mole Hawaii and Celebrity Mole Yucatan in addition to hosting Sci Fi Channel's Scare Tactics.  He's also starred in such films as The Usual Suspects and is the youngest of Hollywood's "Baldwin Brothers," which includes his acting kin William, Daniel and Alec.

"I don't know if [the bull] knew it because he had a Baldwin on his back," Baldwin joked to Reuters. "He did a whole lot more bucking than anyone could have anticipated."

While the fall meant Baldwin had to abandon plans to travel to Russia next week for a movie shoot, according to Reuters, it also apparently means he'll have to sit on the sidelines during the remainder of production on Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge.
