Susan Sarandon is planning to bring ping-pong to the national consciousness via a new reality series.

"It won't be the Jersey Shore," Sarandon told People in a Monday report.

"It's more of an episodic documentary. We're trying to invent something you haven't seen before that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture."

The 63-year-old actress is an investor in SPiN, a New York City ping-pong nightclub that hosted a World Champions Event over the weekend, and she told People the new reality project would especially focus on young players attempting to make the Olympic team.

"One of them probably will," she added.

The self-described "Johnny Appleseed of ping-pong" is unsure when or on what network the potential project will air.

"We're just in the early filming stages now," she told People.

"I'm not sure where we're going to land in terms of our home because we want the tone of it to be funny and quite different than anything else that anybody's seen before."
