The Bachelor star Ben Higgins is loosening the reins on being secretive in his interviews now that Season 20 has premiered.

When asked which bachelorette this season is "the hottest," Higgins immediately replied, "Olivia."
Olivia Caridi is a 23-year-old blonde news anchor from Austin, TX, who received Higgins' coveted first impression rose.
So does that mean Higgins prefers blondes over brunettes? Not exactly, because the Bachelor insisted he likes "both."
In addition to saying his wife "could've been" in the room on Night 1, Higgins also told E! News the strangest entrance belonged to Maegan Miller, who brought a mini-horse with her and was also later dubbed "the funniest" bachelorette.
Higgins said he prefers small-town girls over city girls as well as pizza and beer dates at home over fancy dinner dates out. He also insisted he's not nervous to watch the season unfold on TV.
"It's my story; It's the women's stories. And that's something I'm excited about. Let's make it roll," the Bachelor said.
Also during his interview, Higgins opened up about initially meeting his 28 bachelorettes.
"Your mind is in 100 different places. With every conversation you're having, remembering all the names, that's important. That's something I wanted to make sure I did... It's constant practice. I would introduce myself to somebody, they'd go inside, and then I'd try to make a connection with how their entrance was and their name," Higgins explained.
"So when I sat down with them later and they quizzed me, like, 'Hey, do you remember my name?' I could tell them. But your mind's in a lot of different places. I'll be honest. When the twins walked out of the limo, I thought I was going a little crazy. I was seeing double at that point because it had been hours of saying hello to people."
Higgins wanted to make it known producers didn't help him out with names nor did they influence him to keep certain girls around because they are extremely entertaining. For example, he gave Lace Morris a rose after she appeared to get drunk, attempt to make out with him when he wasn't feeling it and talk about other girls behind their backs.
So why did Higgins give her a rose then? And why didn't he take it away after she awkwardly confronted him about not making eye contact with her following the season's first Rose Ceremony?

"Well, there's a couple of things. When you watch the show, like I did last night, there's a lot of things I see that I didn't know on that first night -- her interactions with the women, some of the comments she was making -- so when I was watching, I was learning things myself," Higgins explained.
"This is one thing that everybody should know. This is MY experience with these women, and the decisions that are made and the women that I keep is really up to me. But it's hard to see, you know, the perspective where I'm coming from. As you watch it, you're seeing all these comments and you're seeing interaction amongst the women. I'm only seeing our one-on-one time."
Higgins reiterated how all of his decisions were his own based on the information he knew at the time.
"Sometimes that's going to lead to maybe not the best decisions, but it's the ones I believe are right in the moment. And watching last night, I'm still really excited and thankful for the women moving forward into the second week," Higgins told E! News.
