The Bachelorette's tenth-season couple Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray have ended their engagement and broken up.

"After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it's best for both of us to go our separate ways. We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what's best for both of us individually," Dorfman and Murray announced in a joint media statement released to People.

"We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best."

Dorfman, 27, and Murray, 30, got engaged in May although the proposal didn't air on The Bachelorette until late July. At the time, they had been banking on a Spring 2015 wedding.

The breakup probably comes as a sudden shock to Bachelor nation, as very few rumors have circulated about the pair in recent months. In August, Dorfman threw her fiance a surprise 30th birthday party and couldn't gush enough about how much she loved him.

Dorfman and Murray also just appeared on the red carpet together for The Bachelor's Season 19 live-premiere event on Monday night, and host Chris Harrison questioned them about their seemingly happy relationship and future wedding plans. The couple presented themselves as if they were absolutely still together and smitten with one another.

"We've actually seen a lot of people that are just so super supportive, which is always nice to see," Dorfman told Harrison. "I mean, if we go to the grocery store, people will be like, 'We're so happy you chose him!' And that just makes me feel good and I know it makes Josh feel good too."

"There's a lot of good people out there," Murray noted.

Throughout the interview, Dorfman repeatedly stroked Murray's back as if to comfort him or portray the idea they were extremely affectionate.

"Let's talk wedding. Obviously we're still excited about the engagement, but have ya'll started talking more about the wedding and a time?" Harrison asked.

"We don't have a time yet," Murray replied. "We're just looking forward to settling down and just relaxing and having some fun with each other."

"I just talked to [Lacy Faddoul] and [Marcus Grodd] -- wedding coming up. [Desiree Hartsock] and [Chris Siegfried], in a couple weeks [they're] getting married. So you guys, just get in the queue!" Harrison suggested.

"I know, right?" Dorfman said with a smile.

"I know! We've got to get on the ball!" Murray added.

"I feel like once you start planning though, there's no stopping. So I've got to, like, really be ready to plan. And he's gotta be really ready to taste all the food and drink all the wine until then," Dorfman explained.

"Oh, I'm ready to taste all the food and drink the wine. You know I can eat, so," Murray laughed.

Now that Dorfman's single, maybe tenth-season runner-up Nick Viall will get a second chance. He may still be hurting from Dorfman dumping him, as he just posted the link to an interview he did called "6 awesome ways to deal with a breakup" on Twitter January 7.

Prior to her stint on The Bachelorette, Dorfman competed for Juan Pablo Galavis' heart on The Bachelor's eighteenth season.
