The Bachelorette drama regarding Robby Hayes' ex-girlfriend Hope Higginbotham appears to come to a head on the next episode when JoJo Fletcher travels to his hometown and meets his family.

Hayes, a 27-year-old former competitive swimmer, is then shown sitting down with a woman whom appears to be his mother for a tense conversation.
"You broke up... to go on the show," the woman says to Hayes.
Fletcher then confronts Hayes about rumors he dumped Higginbotham, 24, after more than three years of dating just to compete on The Bachelorette.
"Robby, just be honest with me!" Fletcher pushes.
"I am being dead honest," insists Hayes, a Jacksonville, FL, resident.
The preview clip ends with Fletcher crying at the Rose Ceremony held at an airplane hangar. She says she felt "out of control" and didn't know what to do.
In Monday night's episode, Hayes admitted to Fletcher that he had broken up with his ex in December 2015, which was four months prior to when that scene filmed for the show.
But according to a production source, Hayes called it quits on his significant relationship with Higginbotham in January 2016, when The Bachelorette season's casting process was already underway, Us Weekly reported in its June 27 issue.
"He dumped her to go on the show," a source told the magazine.
Higginbotham reportedly took the breakup hard. However, she recently hung out -- and madeout -- with Season 12's Bachelorette villain Chad Johnson, so maybe she's doing just fine now!
News that Hayes allegedly split with his ex to seek a reality TV opportunity first surfaced when The Bachelorette aired an extended trailer of Season 12 in May on ABC.
