The Voice determined nine of its 32 "knockout" round semifinalists during Monday night's broadcast of the NBC reality singing competition's fifth season.

The Voice coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton each continued whittling down their fifth-season teams from 12 to eight artists during the season's "battle" rounds.

James Irwin, James Wolpert, Austin Jenckes, George Horga Jr., Josh Logan, and Destinee Quinn advanced to The Voice's "knockout" round.

Irwin, Wolpert, Jenckes, Horga Jr., Logan, and Quinn moved forward in the competition after they won their respective "battle" round face-offs against fellow contestants Matt Cermanski, Will Champlin, Brian Pounds, Juhi, Michael Lynch, and Lina Gaudenzi.

The artists squared off in the "battle" rounds after The Voice coaches each selected two members of his or her individual singing team to perform a duet performance that would end with the coach eliminating one of the singers from the competition.

However, similar to previous seasons, each coach is allowed two "steals" all season in which two losing face-off contestants may be added to a different coach's original six-member team of "battle" round winners.

During Monday night's broadcast, three contestants were stolen: Gaudenzi, Juhi and Champlin.

Levine matched up Irwin and Cermanski, requiring them to sing "Counting Stars" by One Republic.

Levine also paired Wolpert and Champlin, who then performed "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. Champlin was stolen by Aguilera.

Shelton paired up Jenckes and Pounds and assigned them "To Love Somebody" by The Beegees.

Horga Jr. and Juhi were paired by Green and required to perform a duet of "Best I Ever Had" by Gavin DeGraw. Juhi was stolen by Levine. 

Aguilera matched up Logan and Lynch, who were given the song "Harder to Breathe" by Maroon 5.

Aguilera also paired Quinn and Gaudenzi and had them perform "I'm Not Ready to Make Nice" by The Dixie Chicks. Gaudenzi was stolen by Levine. 

The "battle" rounds will conclude Tuesday night with seven more artists advancing to the "knockout" round. Green is the only remaining coach who still has a "steal" to use in the competition.
