The X Factor eliminated two acts and determined its Top 10 second-season finalist acts Thursday night during the Fox reality singing competition's second live results show.

Lyric 145 -- which consists of former One4Five duo members Julien Joseph, a 19-year-old from Bay Shore, NY, and Jemelle Joseph, a 23-year-old from Bay Shore, NY, as well as rapper Lyric-Bianca Barnes, a 23-year-old from Atlanta, GA who had previously called herself Lyric Da Queen -- was automatically eliminated without any discussion or voting from The X Factor judges after the group was declared the twelfth-place act with the least amount of votes. Lyric 145 was in Cowell's "Groups" category.
"I feel good. I feel like we didn't get the opportunity to show what we really had. We had original lyrics, we had a hip-hop song that got snatched away from us at the last minute. So, we're just taking the good with the bad right now and we thank everybody for cheering for us," Barnes said on behalf of her group following their ouster.
Jennel Garcia, an 18-year-old from Rochester, MA, was sent home by the show's judges Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid, Britney Spears, and Demi Lovato via a 3-1 vote instead of fellow contestant Paige Thomas, a 22-year-old from San Antonio, TX, after both girls were revealed to be the two next lowest vote-getters -- meaning, one singer placed eleventh and the other tenth -- in the competition. Garcia and Thomas were members of Lovato's "Young Adults" (17-24) category.
"I'm just happy that I've come so far, thank you [Demi]," said a devastated Garcia after the results were announced.
"I just think you're so unbelievably talented and you have a future ahead of you, so I'm not worried. And I love you, and I really, really believe in you," Lovato told Garcia in tears.
As the two remaining bottom-three acts, Garcia and Thomas were required to "sing for their survival" in the hopes The X Factor judges would vote to keep them on the show. After the acts performed, the judges offered them feedback and then cast their votes for whom they believed should be eliminated from the competition.
In the event of a 2-2 tie, it would be a deadlock and the act who had received the lower amount of home viewer votes would automatically be eliminated.
"This is really difficult. I'm actually shocked that either of them are at the bottom because I think they're both amazing -- really, really strong. But unfortunately, I have to make a very unpleasant decision, and the act that I've decided to send home is Jennel Garcia, I'm sorry," Reid told the two singers.
"This is a really tough decision. Both of you are amazing performers and really have a lot of heart, and it's really interesting to see. But the act that I'm going to send home is Jennel," Spears announced.
Cowell was supposed to reveal his vote next, before Lovato, but refused to because he wanted to hear what Lovato had to say first since both the bottom acts were in her category.
"The act that I'm going to send home is Paige," Lovato said after some hesitation.

"The act I believe has got the best star potential, and I felt it tonight on the sing-off -- and for me, it's a relatively easy decision. The act I'm going to send home is Jennel," Cowell explained.
At the end of last night's broadcast, Lopez and Kardashian announced the order of which the remaining finalist acts had finished based upon the number of home viewer votes they had received after Wednesday night's performance show. Tenth place received the least amount of votes, while first place earned the most.
Lopez and Kardashian revealed the results starting from tenth place, which obviously went to Thomas. Arin Ray, a 17-year-old from Cincinnati, OH, finished ninth, while Beatrice Miller, a 13-year-old from Maplewood, NJ, finished in eighth place.
Seventh place went to Diamond White, a 13-year-old from Los Angeles, CA. Fifth Harmony finished in sixth place, while Cece Frey, a 21-year-old from Decatur, IL, landed in fifth. Fourth place went to Emblem 3, and Vino Alan, a 40-year-old from Laquey, MO, claimed third.
Carly Rose Sonenclar, a 13-year-old from Mamaroneck, NY, and Tate Stevens, a 37-year-old from Raymore, MO, were revealed to be the week's Top 2 acts for the second time in a row. Sonenclar finished in second place, while Stevens claimed the number one top spot again. Lopez announced there was only a third of one percent separating the two acts.
In addition to Thomas, Frey is the other act in Lovato's "Young Adults" category. White, Miller, Sonenclar, and Ray are the members of Spears' "Teens" (16 and under) category. Stevens and Alan are the remaining artists in Reid's "Over 25s," while Cowell's "Groups" category still features Emblem 3 and Fifth Harmony.
