Britain's Next Top Model is a UK reality television show broadcast on LIVINGtv. Its aim is to find a potential world-class professional Top Model from a group of unknown contestants.

The third cycle of Britain's next top model started on Monday 2th of July with a fresh new look and new title-sequence, hosted by supermodel Lisa Snowdon, In March 2006 it was announced that Lisa Snowdon would be replacing Lisa Butcher as presenter for the second series. The prize for winning Britain's Next Top Model Cycle 3 is a modelling contract with Models 1, one of Europe's leading modelling agencies, who have signed Twiggy, Linda Evangelista, Karen Elson, Jerry Hall, Paris Hilton, Yasmin Le Bon, Will Chalker and Lisa Butcher.

Other prizes include becoming the face of top British cosmetics company Ruby & Millie and a 6 page fashion spread in Company magazine as well as gracing the front cover.

In each episode, the programme's panel of judges - Jonathan Phang, Marie Helvin (Cycle 1) and Supermodel Paula Hamilton (Cycle 2), plus a guest judge - assess task performance and potential. After each critique, one girl is eliminated and sent home.

Format

Each season of Top Model has from ten to fourteen episodes and starts with ten to fourteen contestants. Generally, one contestant is eliminated per episode by consensus of the judging panel. Makeovers are administered to contestants early in the season, and a trip to an international destination is scheduled at about two-thirds' way through the season.

Each episode of Top Model, covering the events of roughly a week of real time, features a fashion challenge, photo shoot or commercial, judging, and critique of each contestant and her performance by the panel of judges, and the elimination of [usually] one contestant. Each episode is usually associated with a theme in the world of modelling, such as dealing with the press in interviews, selling a commercial product, or appearing in a runway show.

Special airing in the United States

On December 13 and December 20, 2006, highlights from the first two cycles was aired in the United States on The CW. This marked the first time a "Top Model" franchise from outside the US has been shown on American television.

VH1 has begun airing past seasons of the show in the United States. The most recent airing was an eight-hour marathon of the second cycle on August 30, 2007.
