90 Day Diaries chronicles not just successful 90 Day Fiance couples but also numerous 90 Day Fiance alums who didn't see their original 90 Day Fiance relationship work out. The cast members have attempted to begin new romances after the failure of their prior overseas relationships.

The season will feature more cast members in the coming weeks, but below is what happened on Episode 5 of 90 Day Diaries' fourth season.

KENNY and ARMANDO

Kenny and Armando met on a gay fathers' support group on social media, and after a year of talking online, they met in person and knew they had something special between them.

Kenny moved to Mexico for the relationship and the pair got married, and they had been married for about a year. They got a bulldog together and Kenny's daughter Cassidy also welcomed her son Julian, making Kenny a grandfather for the second time.

Seeing how excited Kenny got over the new baby, Armando began wanting a baby of their own.

The couple, however, was at a standstill about having a child together because Kenny was concerned about the responsibility and his age.

Despite the lingering issue, Kenny gushed about how his life with Armando was beautiful and they loved raising Armando's nine-year-old daughter Hannah from a previous relationship.

Armando was shown straightening Hannah's hair because her dream was to become a model. Armando therefore booked a modeling class for Hannah so she could take some lessons and see if she liked it.

Hannah said she loved walking like a model and posing, and Kenny could tell that Hannah was a natural and totally in her element. Kenny said Hannah would want to continue modeling and so they may need to move to a bigger city because the studio was two hours from their house.

"I really want to move to Mexico City, and I've been trying to talk Armando into it for a long time now. I just think it would be really good for Hannah... and for her education, and for us being accepted as a gay couple and as a gay family," Kenny explained.

Armando felt at peace with his current life and worried about Mexico City's high crime rate. The idea of moving actually freaked Armando out, and he didn't want peace taken away from his family.

Kenny and Armando asked their friend Ivette for some advice considering she had lived in Mexico City before, and Ivette gushed about the city and how it's beautiful with nicer schools.

Ivette admitted she didn't feel safe and constantly feared people might snatch her jewelry right off her. She said it also wasn't a great idea to raise Hannah there as a pre-teen.

Kenny was bummed out by Ivette's reaction, but Armando was glad that Kenny could see he wasn't just poo-pooing the idea.

Later on, Armando shared his candle-making process with viewers. Kenny said he was impressed by Armando's ambition, and Armando floated the idea of opening up a shop.

Kenny asked Armando to just try Mexico City, where Armando would have more success with his candle venture, and they could rent a place in a good area. Kenny just wanted to get a feel for what it's all about over the course of a few months.

Kenny said in that case, he'd be more open to talking about surrogacy or adoption and adding to their family.

"What's making me think about it is I want Kenny happy. He has done a lot for me and for Hannah. I guess life is a risk and I need to take risks sometimes," Armando told the cameras.

Armando therefore determined they could try Mexico City for a little bit, and Kenny was so excited.

"We're moving to Mexico City!" Kenny cheered with a big smile on his face.

COLT and VANESSA

Vanessa was shown working in her new job, training diabetic alert dogs to eventually save lives.

Colt's 90-day journey began when he met and soon married a Brazilian woman named Larissa Dos Santos Lima. Colt called it a match made in hell, and the couple divorced.

Colt went on to date another Brazilian woman named Jess, but their relationship ended when he was caught sleeping with Vanessa, who had been going through a divorce at the time.

Vanessa said she and Colt had trust issues but there was always an intense attraction between them.

Colt and Vanessa had been married almost a year by the time this special filmed, but they spent the first nine months of their married life living with Colt's mother Debbie Johnson.

"Living with Debbie, I felt like I was losing my mind, and so I decided to go over to my cousin's house," Vanessa said.

When Vanessa moved out, Colt panicked and didn't know what to do. His friends advised him to set some boundaries with Debbie, and Colt said he realized that he had to prioritize his relationship with his wife and focus on Vanessa.

"I haven't officially moved out of my mother's house yet, but I definitely made it more important to be around Vanessa as much as I can. So I'm spending pretty much my entire time at her cousin's house," Colt shared.

Vanessa told Colt to start acting like an adult in life, and Colt said he planned to find a place of their own. However, Colt had been unemployed since the coronavirus pandemic hit, and Vanessa admitted the pay of her job wasn't very good.

Colt knew he couldn't afford a dog, nevermind a child, and so Vanessa acknowledged how their situation needed to change. A few months earlier, Vanessa and Colt had suffered through a miscarriage.

"It was very traumatic. It was a lot to process. I do feel like I could have a child with Colt someday, but we realize we're not ready for a kid right now," Vanessa told the cameras.

Colt couldn't wait to live with Vanessa on his own, and so he suggested they could rent a house and have a little stay-cation in Las Vegas to see what it would be like living totally alone as a couple. Vanessa called the idea "exciting."

Two weeks later, Colt and Vanessa moved into a home and invited some friends over for dinner. Colt gushed about how and Vanessa were "adulting it up," and Vanessa was smiling ear to ear.

Colt, who previously developed slot-machine games and said he didn't like the industry, explained how he was trying to find work and expand his horizons. He even seemed prepared to leave Las Vegas for a job, which would mean moving away from Debbie.

Colt could see himself working in Alabama or Florida, but Vanessa accused Colt of being "flighty" and not following through with things. She said Colt gave up whenever he became bored or frustrated.

Colt wanted to take care of his family, meaning his wife, but Vanessa -- who still viewed her husband like a child -- tended to dismiss him. Vanessa said she needed to view Colt like a partner and was ready to follow him anywhere as a result.

TOM and MARIAH

Tom said he slid into Mariah's DMs two years prior. Mariah has two sons, a 13 and 15-year-old, and she had traveled to the U.K. to see Tom about 14 times. And at that point, Tom had been living in Las Vegas for about 100 days.

"We've had some ups and downs. It's been difficult being in a long-distance relationship, but we're trying to make it work. About eight months ago, I asked Mariah to marry me, to which she said, 'Not yet,'" Tom said.

However, the pair carried on and continued to be happy. Mariah wanted to see what real life would be like with Tom, and so he agreed to live in Las Vegas for several months -- but the couple apparently failed to live in a real-life situation because Mariah's ex-husband was always around and she didn't even introduce Tom to her boys.

Tom and Mariah talked things out in Buenos Aires afterward, and Tom noted how he'd love to propose marriage to his girlfriend again -- but they needed to work towards that.

Mariah's divorce was only two weeks away from being settled, and so he thought their relationship was moving in the right direction.

Tom and Mariah then took a romantic trip to Paris, France, and Tom called their life together "a fairy tale." Las Vegas, on the other hand, had been "a reality check" for the pair.

Mariah said once her divorce was finalized and Tom met her sons in-person, she'd feel more ready for an engagement.

Tom told Mariah how living in England together would be wonderful because they could quickly hop over to Paris, Barcelona or Milan for shopping and adventures. Tom said he no longer wanted to live out of a suitcase and he hated Las Vegas.

Tom asked Mariah if she'd be willing to move to England with her boys, and she said her ex-husband probably wouldn't let her relocate to a different country permanently.

Mariah said she could move to England for the whole summer, but she seemed wary about moving to England permanently. Tom accused Mariah of changing their plans once again, saying that he felt "really, really disappointed."

Mariah insisted that she wanted everything Tom wanted. However, her boys would have to agree to the plan and be okay with moving away from the United States and their father.

"I do love Tom and I do see a future with him, but I am torn because I want to keep things cordial with my ex and stable for my boys," Mariah explained in a confessional.

Mariah told Tom that she and her boys would move to England for the summer with the intention of staying there, as long as everything went well and according to plan. Mariah said the worst case scenario would be Tom moving to the U.S. so her kids could finish high school.

Once her sons graduated from high school, Mariah said she and Tom would have more freedom to move somewhere else.

Tom said he loved Mariah and really wanted to be with her but he was beginning to question when their romance could ever really happen.

PAOLA and RUSS

Paola and Russ met when Russ was on a job assignment in Colombia about 10 years prior. They fell in love and got married on their K-1 visa, and in 2019, they welcomed their son Axel, who is now three years old.

The couple was going on nine years of marriage, and Russ was proud of Paola for committing to wrestling. However, about six months into the pandemic, Russ was laid off from his job and so the pair moved into an RV full-time so they could travel and see the United States.

However, Russ was rehired and so the couple needed to stay in South Florida. Since Russ also had remote work, he tried to keep up with life at home and felt very overwhelmed.

Russ and Paola had been trying to make their marriage work for so long, but Paola said they reached a breaking point.

"He behind my back applied for the job that he has right now, and he got accepted. So now we are stuck in the RV and we're not able to travel the way I wanted. The plans we had, they are gone, and I do not accept it. I am not happy about it," Paola said.

Russ believed that Paola resented him and his mistakes from the past were coming back to haunt him, and Paola wondered if she and Russ were still meant to be together.

The couple was therefore shown meeting with a marriage counselor after contemplating divorce a couple of times. Russ wanted to continue fighting for the marriage because of their son, but Paola admitted, "I'm not sure if I love him still."

Russ told the therapist that he had taken the easy way out by accepting his former job again. Russ said he had lost who he is and wasn't following through on his promises to Paola or his own potential.

Paola felt overwhelming and confessed how their current situation wasn't what she wanted. Paola agreed to "try," even though she wasn't sure this was the right thing for her to do.

DEAN and RIGIN

Dean and Rigin met on an online dating app, and they talked every day after meeting. Dean traveled to the Philippines for a 10-day vacation, and he ended up staying in the country for three years!

Dean and Rigin fell in love and welcomed a son named Marshawn, now 1, and they also announced they're expecting a second baby together.

Dean said it was difficult to raise a baby during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, and he was so excited to be able to join Rigid at her three-month appointment at the gynecologist.

Dean wasn't able to accompany Rigin to these appointments during COVID-19.

Dean, however, was going to have to leave the country in October because his Tourist Visa was going to expire. He had been asking for two-month extensions and wondered if he'd be able to return to the Philippines as to not miss anything with Baby No. 2.

Dean's baby was apparently due in October, and he didn't want to miss his second son or first daughter's birth.

Rigin hoped to have a baby girl, but Dean didn't seem to have a preference. Dean just wanted to have a healthy baby, and he hoped Rigin wouldn't experience any pregnancy complications this time around.

Dean and Rigin's baby was due October 22, but Dean promised Rigin that he wasn't going to miss the birth and he'd always be there for her.
