JENNY AND SUMIT
The lockdown in India had finally ended after Jenny and Sumit spent a long time quarantining with each other.Since the courthouses reopened, Jenny and Sumit met with a lawyer who specializes in marriage law so they could start the process of getting married legally.
Jenny's Tourist Visa was about to expire, so she and Sumit were running out of time. Given a person must leave the country they're visiting every 180 days on the visa, Jenny feared traveling amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Sumit attempted to slow things down by saying they should just talk to a lawyer before making any moves, but Jenny got frustrated because she was clearly tired of waiting to become Sumit's wife.
"Sometimes I feel a little pressure, like, man I have to marry... A lot of things are coming at the same time and it's not easy to handle," Sumit said in a confessional.

Sumit and Jenny then met with a lawyer, Rishabh Rai, and asked how they could marry if people objected to their union.
"If objection rises, you have to face marriage officers and it will be expensive," Rishabh warned the pair. "That is for certain, but it does not have a religious angle to it. That is the purpose of Special Marriage Act."

The lawyer advised the couple to avoid a lengthy process and potential complications by getting married in the "Arya Samaj Mandir," a temple. Jenny and Sumit were told they could explain their willingness to marry, provide documents and then get married.
Certain religious sacraments would be performed at the temple, and Jenny was told she wouldn't have to convert to Hinduism. Rishabh explained registration was post-marriage and Jenny and Sumit could get married at any time.
What Jenny heard was like a dream come true, but she acknowledged she and Sumit could have made different choices had they acquired this information earlier in their relationship.
Legally, Sumit's parents could not object to his wedding with Jenny unless Sumit was under age 18 or was "a lunatic," according to the lawyer.
Getting married at the temple would be a completely legal ceremony, and Rishabh added that it would be easier for Jenny to get her visa extended since she'd be living with a legal spouse in India.
Jenny gushed about being so relieved because she and Sumit would be able to officially get married on the day of their ring ceremony. Jenny was thrilled, but Sumit appeared uneasy and told Jenny that he'd like to talk to his parents before getting married again.
Jenny sternly said, "No," thinking that Sumit's parents would talk him out of it.
Sumit, however, explained to the cameras, "I want [my parents] to approve it. I want them to be happy for me. I don't want to just do something without telling them. Literally, I would lose my parents."

Sumit said talking to his parents was very important to him and he wanted Jenny to join him for the conversation, but Jenny was furious and said, "I don't understand why Sumit is trying to stall the marriage."
Jenny assumed Sumit's parents would never come around and approve of their legal union.
The next day, Jenny admitted she wasn't happy about Sumit's desire to speak to his parents before marrying; however, Sumit agreed to go through with the ring ceremony first -- which was essentially getting engaged -- without his parents knowing.
Sumit intended to invite some of his friends to the ring ceremony but not his parents.
Jenny was then shown Skyping with her daughter Christina, and Jenny revealed the good news about how easy it would be to get married and how Sumit's parents couldn't stop them.
Jenny feared Sumit's parents might beg her not to marry their son or convince Sumit that he was making a mistake. Jenny said Sumit had promised her marriage and he better now let her down.
"This is my future at stake here!" Jenny said.
Sumit then invited his brother Amit and his wife over his place to talk about their upcoming ring ceremony.
Jenny and Sumit revealed to Amit that they'd be getting engaged the very next day through a ring ceremony and they were invited to come.
Amit told the cameras he wasn't "mentally prepared" for this and never thought Sumit and Jenny's relationship would even last as long as it had.
Sumit said he had no intention of telling his parents about the ring ceremony so they wouldn't stop it from happening, but he asked Amit for help with getting their parents onboard.
Amit explained that while he accepted Sumit and Jenny's relationship, Sumit's relationship with their parents would end if he went through with marrying Jenny. Amit said his parents would never accept Jenny and Sumit's age difference and they must be "ready for the consequences."

Jenny got emotional and broke down into tears. Jenny shouted that she and Sumit simply loved each other and made each other happy.
"This is my life now and this is what I've chosen for myself," Jenny cried, begging people to stop giving her "hell" and being so set in their ways.
Jenny was clearly desperate for Sumit's parents to accept her and their relationship, and she vented about how she couldn't change her age.
"I hate having to go through this. I am so tired of it! I really am. I chose you Sumit... and we both have to suffer for it. It's so unfair," Jenny lamented in Sumit's arms.
ARIELA AND BINIYAM
The day after Ariela's parents arrived, Ariela was still frustrated Biniyam had to go to work the night prior. Biniyam admitted he had made a mistake, and Ariela said she didn't want to fight with him."I want us to stay together and be a family," Ariela noted. "I don't want my parents to think that we're not a good match. I want Biniyam and my family to get along, and I don't want to do anything to jeopardize that."
Biniyam looked forward to making things up to Ariela's parents, spending quality time with them and showing them a good time in Ethiopia.
Ariela and Biniyam then took Janice and Fred to a local marketplace, where Biniyam attempted to buy a live chicken and kill it for dinner.
The scene made Janice upset so Ariela begged Biniyam not to do it, and the family hurried off in a different direction. Biniyam wanted to show off the local culture, but Fred noted Ethiopia seemed very underdeveloped, and he certainly wasn't impressed.

Fred, for instance, worried about where his grandson would play when he's older. He also noticed Ariela and Biniyam needed to communicate better, like Biniyam warning Ariela when he must go to work ahead of time.

Biniyam was proud of his luxurious apartment, saying it was a nicer place than anything else he's ever lived in before, but Janice suggested the couple needed a bigger apartment.
Janice pointed out the small refrigerator and noted the couple would need more space for a growing boy.
"It doesn't fit the requirements we expect for our daughter and our grandson," Janice told the cameras.
Janice wanted to see Ariela raising her son in an apartment with a garden and room to play, and she said they could help the couple out financially if necessary.
Biniyam revealed he made anywhere from $400-$500 a night for his singing and dancing in the clubs, but Ariela's parents were concerned his source of income wouldn't be able to support his family.
Janice said Biniyam would need to find a steady and stable full-time job so the couple would never have to worry about paying their rent, buying food or bringing the basic necessities home.
Janice and Fred explained that while they appreciated Biniyam's passion and artistry, he needed to step up as a provider for Ariela and their baby.
Ariela later introduced her parents to Biniyam's sisters Mimi and Wish in the hope Janice and Fred would see how she had a support system in Ethiopia.
Ariela said it was difficult for her to be stuck at home all day while Biniyam worked, but Mimi and Wish insisted it's normal in Ethiopian culture for the man to be away.
The girls said a mother should not complain or scold the father, and they mentioned how Ariela had a temper and looked like a bossy "white girl" in the streets.

Mimi and Wish predicted Biniyam would leave Ariela if she couldn't learn to trust him and respect him as a man.
Ariela then revealed to her parents that she planned to baptize Avi in Biniyam's religion and she didn't want to analyze it too much. Janice and Fred didn't love hearing that Avi wouldn't be brought up Jewish, and Fred thought this Christian baptism was Biniyam forcing it upon Ariela.
Mimi and Wish explained it's very important for their nephew to be baptized in their faith and Ariela shouldn't change her mind or else Avi would get sent straight to hell after death.
Ariela said she didn't want Aviel growing up with hell in his life, and Biniyam's sister accused Ariela of acting like Biniyam's ex, who had fled Ethiopia with his first child.
Ariela argued that was "really f-cked up," and she couldn't believe Biniyam was letting his sisters talk to her like this. Janice realized Ariela didn't have any support in Ethiopia and Biniyam's sisters clearly took Biniyam's side in everything.
Fred came to the conclusion Ariela and Biniyam were in love and wanted to make a life together, but he acknowledged there was "a lot of uncertainty" still present.
BRITTANY AND YAZAN
Two days after Brittany arrived in Jordan, Yazan picked Brittany and Angela up at a bar downtown. Brittany was hyper and doing "the robot" in the street, and she didn't know how Yazan was going to react to her being a big tipsy.Yazan took Brittany to see his barber shop, and Yazan kept looking at Brittany while he was driving. Brittany was all giggles, and it quickly became clear to Yazan that she was drunk.
Yazan didn't want to create problems in the moment, but he said Brittany had no idea how their relationship was affecting his dynamic with his family and creating other problems for him in his life.
Brittany was so happy Yazan had acquired a job as well as an apartment, and then she playfully gave him a haircut in the barber shop. Yazan, however, didn't let Brittany touch his hair and the pair flirted in the shop.

Brittany told Yazan that she wanted to make sure they were on the same page and taking things seriously for their future. Yazan insisted he wanted Brittany to stay in Jordan and marry him.
"Are you still thinking I'm going to convert to be Muslim?" Brittany asked.
"It's okay. I don't care for right now," Yazan replied.
"Do we have to get married right away or can we wait?" Brittany questioned.
"Why you want to wait?" Yazan asked.
"Just for us to know each other better and make sure we have a good relationship first... just one year," Brittany explained.
"I love you and I want to be, like, happy, so yeah," Yazan responded. "I wait. Yeah, I think that is a good idea."
Yazan told Brittany everything she wanted to hear apparently, but she expected him to change his mind again once his family continued to put pressure on him.
The couple therefore found themselves in a good place, and Brittany just asked Yazan to show her his promises through his actions.
Yazan later showed Brittany his apartment and invited Brittany to stay with him. Brittany said she wanted to stay in the hotel until someone could fix the shower.
But then Yazan broke the news he didn't want to wait one or two years to get married. He said he couldn't have "a girlfriend" for that long because it would make God angry at him.

Yazan stood by the fact, however, Brittany wouldn't need to covert to his religion for him.
Yazan said Brittany not becoming a Muslim woman would be a problem for his parents but problems already existed with his family and nothing would change that.
Yazan told Brittany that he wanted to wed within one month, and a part of Brittany was "boiling" inside because she didn't want that type of pressure on her.
Brittany admitted she was scared and wanted Yazan to tell his family that Brittany was never going to convert and they planned to do their relationship their way.
Yazan explained standing up to his parents would be "dangerous," and he decided to hire a translator so she could understand where he was coming from. Yazan didn't think his English skills could do it justice, but he insisted all he cared about was being with her.
TIM AND MELYZA
Tim's mother Robin and aunt Karmyn had to head home soon, but before they left, Robin told her son that she hoped Melyza understood and appreciated all the sacrifices Tim had made for her by moving to Colombia.Tim admitted he was scared Melyza only viewed him as a friend since he had done so much damage to their relationship. Tim wasn't sure Melyza could view him as a lover and romantic partner again, and the pair needed to build trust in order for her to do that.
Tim was worried about his savings running out, not finding a job, and Melyza's parents getting in their daughter's ear. Tim feared Melyza might "give up" on their relationship once times got tough, but Robin was sure Melyza loved Tim and would stand by him.
"I'm feeling wracked with uncertainty because I don't have a job and marriage is not on the table right now. I'm going to have to move back to the States, and I'm extremely worried about how that's going to affect Melyza and I's relationship," Tim explained.

Robin also apparently thought it was a good thing Melyza saw another man during her separation from Tim because it probably showed her that Tim is truly the man she wants to be with forever.
Melyza called Robin's visit "successful and positive," and she was really happy to have their support going forward in her romance with Tim.
Tim felt he was putting everything on the line for Melyza and something that wasn't even guaranteed. Tim didn't know what to expect in the future, and he cried on Melyza's shoulder after his loved ones took off for the airport.
Tim and Melyza then met with a couples' counselor in order to work on the emotional aspect of their relationship as well as the logistics of how they'd start a life together in Colombia.
Melyza said she wanted to forgive Tim for cheating on her and they were "making progress."
Tim seemed very nervous about finding a job, especially because Melyza wasn't ready for marriage yet and getting married would make Tim's job search much easier. Tim was worried about finances and putting the couple "in a hole."
Tim told the counselor he was thinking about returning to the United States so he could make money again, and Melyza appeared surprised and disappointed.
"I think it's kind of going to be a breaking point for everything we've accomplished so far," Melyza shared. "I don't know. I still don't trust [him]. Not at all."
Melyza said she didn't realize Tim was seriously considering a move back to America and if he followed through with it, she believed it would speak negatively on his commitment to her.

Melyza admitted the idea of Tim moving to the United States made her "nervous and uncomfortable," but Tim insisted the only reason for him going back would be to put themselves in a more stable financial position.

KENNY AND ARMANDO
Kenny and Armando had visited the marriage license office one week ago, and so they returned to receive their official letter of denial in order to fight the result with the human rights office, who would petition on the couple's behalf.Kenny suggested Armando should explain the situation to Hannah since she came along for the ride, and the whole situation was concerning for Kenny. Kenny wanted to work in Mexico and be able to provide for his new family.
Armando and Kenny received their letter of denial, which explained same-sex marriage was not permitted in Mexico in order to "save the human species" and preserve union for men and women.
Armando and Kenny couldn't believe the wording in the letter, and Armando called it "humiliating."
"We are part of the human race," Kenny argued, adding that he felt "very defeated."
DEAVAN AND JIHOON
Deavan was shown Skyping with her parents, who planned to travel to South Korea for her wedding.Deavan asked her mother Elicia if she was still angry at Jihoon for allowing Drascilla to run into the street, and Elicia replied, "Of course I am."

But Deavan insisted Jihoon was trying very hard as a father and had improved his parenting and behavior.
Jihoon joked that he suffered from "EP syndrome," better known as "Elicia Phobia." Deavan laughed and promised her husband that Elicia wasn't going to kill him and everything would be fine.
Deavan and Jihoon's wedding was only three days away, and Deavan couldn't wait for her parents to arrive. Deavan wanted to prove to her parents that things were better and Jihoon was doing a good job.

Jihoon told the cameras he was about to piss his pants upon seeing Elicia again, and Elicia hoped to see the alleged changes in Jihoon with her "own eyes."
Deavan said it was so important for Jihoon to make a better impression on her mother because she wanted her family to approve of her husband and be happy for their marriage.
