90 Day Fiance: The Other Way star Evelin Villegas has opened up about the reality of her relationship with Corey Rathgeber and her dating history with an ex-boyfriend.

But 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way's episodes have also shown Corey having trouble getting over an ex-boyfriend whom Evelin apparently had a serious relationship with -- a guy whom her local friends apparently loved and admired. (Evelin was also shown bragging about how her ex was "very smart and funny.")

Evelin therefore took to Instagram recently to clarify her relationship with Corey and the timeline of her romance with the ex-boyfriend.
"Hi people! Here's a throwback to the first picture corey and I ever took the night we meet. I know it's been some rumors here and there and yes there's [articles] from 2016 talking about our relationship since 2014. We had a long distance on and off relationship," Evelin wrote in a July posting.
"[The pic was taken] on April 08/2014 the night we met. We been not married before, I tell things the way they are and this is how this is. I had a 2 years relationship before I meet corey and I actually meet him during my crazy time after the breakup and so glad I meet him."
Evelin concluded, "During the relationship he visit Ecuador few times and the rest was online. Please don't tag me on more comments about this rumors. #90dayfiancetheotherway."
Although Evelin won't confirm on social media whether she and Corey are still together as a romantic couple to this day, her activity seems to point to that being the case.
Evelin has gushed about Corey on Instagram numerous times in the last month, sharing sweet and playful videos and photos of their time together in Ecuador.

A week ago, Evelin shared a photo of herself in a bikini walking along the beach on Instagram and called Corey her man. She attempted to put haters and trolls to shame.
"Imagine people telling you everyday that you are ugly and not worthy of your man's love. That your hair, your body, your smile, your clothes everything is just wrong and that he doesn't deserve you. I'm pretty sure the same people saying all those things is the same people that wouldn't be able to handle it if someone say those things to them," Evelin wrote alongside the photo.

Evelin continued, "My relationship with him is great and as you can tell we have nothing but [love] for each other and there's no hard feelings or disrespect. it's shocking to see the bullys... Get a life and let me be mine. Call me a [narcissist], I don't mind it. I rather be so in love with myself than in desperate of getting people's approval."
Evelin wrapped up her post by saying, "It is what it is. Please go get a life. And by the way the people writing stuff in spanish in Corey's post...get a clue; he does not understand it !! #90dayfiancetheotherway #90dayfiance."

And on August 7, Evelin shared a series of videos -- some of which were clearly throwbacks based on the fact Corey had long, surfer-like blonde hair -- of the couple smiling, laughing, and dancing.
"It's been real. Here's a little more of us. I don't mind u guys thinking I'm cold hearted cause I am, only dogs, corey and few people can get in. #throwback #90dayfiance #90daytheotherway @coreyrathgeber_90," Evelin wrote alongside the slideshow.
Back on July 30, Evelin posted a video of the pair dancing at sunset at the bar they own and operate in Ecuador.
"When you have sunsets like this, ocean for a backyard, cold beer and a hot man. Don't get crazy it's a throwback, we have a contract and u guys will find out what happens during our season," Evelin captioned her post.

During a recent episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Evelin revealed when she and Corey were on a break, her ex showed up and she had "made a mistake with him."
Evelin was not proud of her past, and so she didn't appreciate it when Corey brought him up in conversation.

Evelin admitted to Corey she was still friends with her ex -- whom she dated for two years -- but Corey didn't like it.
Corey said Evelin didn't consider her behavior with her ex to be cheating, but the incident apparently bothered Corey because Evelin had wanted space from him at the time, not the other way around.
Corey therefore told Evelin it wasn't healthy to be friends with her ex because he knew what the guy's intentions were. Corey had difficulty leaving Evelin's history in the past, but he promised Evelin they would move forward and he'd stop mentioning her ex.
Corey decided to drop the issue because he was running out of time. He only had 60 days left to propose to Evelin, get married, and apply for citizenship in Ecuador before his Tourist Visa ran out.
But based on a preview for the next episode airing on Monday, August 19, Corey will discover Evelin had a fling with another man and so things will spiral out of control for this 90 Day Fiance couple.
