90 Day Fiance couple Steven and Alina have appeared to be at odds about what they want their relationship to be 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, so what happened between the couple? Do spoilers reveal that Steven and Alina broke up or continued dating -- and are they still together now?

[90 Day Fiance Spoiler Warning: This report contains spoilers on the current status of 90 Day Fiance couple Alina and Steven's relationship.]

90 Day Fiance viewers were introduced to Steven, a 25-year-old from Salt Lake City, UT, and Alina, a 20-year-old from Novosibirsk, Russia, on the Season 3 premiere of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way on TLC.

Steven, a proud and devout Mormon, revealed how he's a conservative guy and his faith is "superbly important" to him.

"When I was 19 years old, I got called to go on a mission and so, for the next two years, I lived in Eastern Europe and I learned to speak Russian. I'm super grateful that I did learn it because now I have Alina," Steven shared on the show.

Steven apparently met Alina on a language-exchange website and recalled, "I started helping her English a little bit and she's helping me with Russian."

After exchanging phone numbers, the couple talked all the time, but Alina admitted she was nervous about Steven's religion because most people of the Russian-Orthodox would consider him to be part of "a cult."

"She didn't even want to meet up with me because she was afraid that I was going to sell her organs," Steven admitted with a laugh.

"I decided to invite her mom, invite my mom. Maybe I [could] convince her like, 'Hey, like, I'm not gonna harvest your organs, I'm not gonna kidnap you. Your mom will be there'... It made her comfortable and then she agreed."

Steven said he and Alina "instantly connected" when they finally met in person and they had a "magical" and exciting first two weeks together.

The couple proceeded to date for over a year, and Alina, who said she's a virgin, seemed proud over the fact she and Steven were both "pure" and intended to save themselves for marriage.

Steven initially planned to move to Russia so Alina could finish college, but the coronavirus pandemic drastically affected and changed their plans.

"The borders closed into Russia and so we had to look for another country where we could be together. We happened to find Turkey, which allows both Russians and Americans, so we're moving to Turkey!" Steven revealed.

Alina therefore had to take a year off from her schooling as a result, and her mother and girlfriends weren't pleased about everything her daughter was giving up for a man she barely knew or trusted.

Steven said he and Alina must marry right away in Turkey so he could apply for a spousal visa and they'd only have 90 days to do so, since both partners were traveling on Tourist Visas.

Steven imagined there wouldn't be any problems, but he was afraid to tell Alina that he had lied and actually had sex before.

And Alina was already struggling with trust issues considering Steven had asked her if he could date other women a couple of weeks into their relationship and appeared to have several attractive female friends.

Steven also broke the news to Alina that he hoped to sleep in separate apartments once they moved to Turkey so he wouldn't be tempted to have sex with her and fail his faith, which Alina found "stupid."

Alina decided to test Steven's faithfulness and loyalty by asking her friend Masha to message Steven on Instagram and flirt with him. Alina wanted to see if Steven would respond or maybe even hit on Masha given she's a beautiful Russian woman.

Alina also wanted to find out whether Steven would say he has a girlfriend.

"I hope it won't work," Alina noted. "If he doesn't pass this test, my heart will be broken. I don't know what I'm going to do after that."

Steven was then shown traveling to Turkey on three flights.

The couple had only spent two weeks together in-person, and so Steven pointed out how these 90 days together were going to be crucial in determining whether they could have a marriage that will last forever.

But Alina still didn't like the idea of living separately from Steven in Turkey. Not only was Alina's mother worried about her daughter being abandoned, but she also feared Alina could be in danger living by herself.

"That's unacceptable," Alina's mother noted. "He's caring more about himself than Alina... I am of course filled with infinite anxiety... and I don't know what to expect from Steven."

Alina also still wasn't sure if Steven was going to reply to her friend Masha's sneaky messages on social media.

Steven and Alina had a sweet and joyful reunion with tears and hugs at the airport in Turkey. Steven said being reunited with Alina felt "like heaven on earth."

Steven said he'd sleep on the couch for their first night together and talk about their living arrangement later on. Steven stood by his desire to sleep in separate room, but Alina wanted to feel safe and wasn't sure she could trust Steven if they were apart.

Steven explained their faith does not allow a couple to cohabitate before marriage and he didn't want their arrangement to affect her ability to get baptized. Steven feared he and Alina wouldn't be able to control themselves, but Alina said that sounded like "an excuse."

"You must test your faith," Alina said. "I can lock the door for the night. I don't believe that there is no way to control yourself."

But Steven said sleeping in the same bed as Alina would tempt him to "skoodilypoop," or have sex.

Steven acknowledged to the cameras it would have been easier for him to remain abstinent had he not enjoyed "penetration" before.

Steven read Russian scripture to Alina before bed, and it wasn't the first night she had expected to have with Steven. The couple didn't cuddle, and Alina thought their time together would be cuter.

Alina was disappointed, and the next day, Steven told Alina that her insisting on sleeping in the same place made him question whether she really wanted to be baptized in his Mormon faith.

"How can you say things like that?" Alina asked. "It's very annoying when Steven [asks] me about my commitment to faith. Maybe he's the one who's not committed because he can't control his sexual urges."

Alina didn't think proving her commitment to his faith meant having to risk her protection, and so Steven agreed to stay together during their time in Turkey.

So what happened with Alina and Steven? Is the 90 Day Fiance couple still together now, and what's the latest on their relationship?

While the couple appears totally in love on Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, they've already faced some adversity -- and it appears the couple just recently got into a big fight.

Alina hinted in mid-September that she's been working on her "self-esteem" and there may be trouble in paradise with Steven.

Alina took to Instagram over the weekend of September 10 and posted a selfie of herself in heavy, futuristic makeup in metallic and dark shades.

"Somebody with a V didn't really like this photo. But I think I look good here and it took me a really long time to do this makeup," Alina captioned the picture, which also featured the reality TV star rocking hoop earrings and a white blouse.

"Girls, don't let a man decide if you look beautiful or not," she added.

Alina also added a blowing-kiss emoticon and the following hashtags to her post: #90dayfiance #90dayfiancetheotherway #90pillowtalk #realitytv #realityshow #90dayfiancetellall #90dayfiancenews.

Alina's post seemingly suggests her Mormon boyfriend disapproved of and/or criticized her edgy, modern look. And they may have even broken up over it!

Many of Alina's followers pointed out how it seems Steven is in "trouble" and Alina has taken shots at her man.

While Steven may not have liked Alina's sexy look, other 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way stars weighed in and complimented the Russian brunette beauty.

"You look amazing girl!!! Always," Evelin Villegas commented on the post.

And Kenny Niedermeier wrote, "Take it from a Y, [fire emoji]."
