Prior to filming the new season of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, Chantel and Pedro also appeared on Seasons 2 and 3 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?.
The third season of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? finished airing on TLC in July 2018.
Chantel and Pedro met online over four years ago when Chantel was looking for a Spanish teacher and she was introduced to Pedro by a mutual friend.
But what began as a mutually-beneficial relationship for educational purposes quickly turned into a mutual crush.
Chantel, who is from Atlanta, GA, then took a trip to the Dominican Republic to visit Pedro, and he eventually popped the question during one of her several visits.
However, when Pedro eventually arrived in America on his K-1 marriage visa, Chantel decided the couple should lie and tell her family he had come to America on a student visa -- kicking off a series of major relationship ups and downs involving both trust issues and their outspoken and stubborn family members.
Despite her family's concerns that Pedro was only interested in marrying Chantel to be able to live in the United States and benefit financially from their marriage, the couple still wed before Pedro's K-1 visa expired and have been living together in America ever since.

Chantel and Pedro, however, have never stopped facing obstacles on their path to a happy ending.
For instance, Chantel's family forced Chantel and Pedro to sign a prenuptial agreement to protect Chantel's financial interests before their wedding, and then still only attended the couple's wedding reluctantly.

In addition, after the couple wed, Chantel's parents also hired a private investigator to research Pedro's family background and see if he had a wife, children or any other unknown secrets back in the Dominican, and Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? ended with Pedro getting into a huge fight with Chantel's family that turned physical.
Pedro was shown running around the dinner table at the home of Chantel's parents to attack her brother, River, but Pedro insisted he didn't start the drama and was a victim in the situation.
Chantel revealed on the season's subsequent Tell-All special she was not ready to try for a baby and expand their family due to all the chaos.
Chantel was still angry with Pedro and said she couldn't imagine welcoming children with a man her family didn't respect and basically couldn't stand -- and vice versa.
Things ended up so bad between Pedro and Chantel's family, that 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?'s fourth season will begin with the couple considering moving to Savannah, GA -- which would require Chantel to transfer to another school to continue her education -- to get away from her family.
So did Chantel and Pedro survive all the drama? Are they still together and married?!
Yes, Chantel and Pedro seem to still be together and married.Although Chantel and Pedro are secretive about their relationship and largely refrain from posting photos and updates of themselves together on social media -- presumably due to their contracts with TLC -- it seems pretty clear their relationship hasn't ended because their time on reality TV won't end with Season 4 of the Happily Ever After? series.

The Family Chantel will star Pedro, Chantel and their lively in-laws -- Chantel's parents Karen and Thomas as well as Pedro's mother Lidia -- and their siblings.
"Viewers will follow this unique modern family as they try to move past their differences and come together as an extended family, but as Chantel's parents Karen and Thomas try to protect their brood, will they push their children too far?" TLC teased in a press release announcing the new show.
"This is an awesome moment for TLC, as we create a family show based on one of our most popular 90 Day couples, and on a whole new night," TLC executive Howard Lee added.
"Our fans can't get enough of Pedro, Chantel and their larger-than-life families. For a brand known as the destination for love, relationships and family shows, The Family Chantel hits the bullseye."
If Chantel and Pedro weren't together anymore, The Family Chantel's existence would obviously be unlikely.
