Steven, a proud and devout Mormon, revealed how he's a conservative guy and his faith is "superbly important" to him.
Steven apparently met Alina on a language-exchange website and recalled, "I started helping her English a little bit and she's helping me with Russian."
After exchanging phone numbers, the couple talked all the time and then met each other's mother.
Alina admitted she was nervous about Steven's religion because most people of the Russian-Orthodox would consider him to be part of "a cult," but she said she "instantly connected" with Steven and the pair had a "magical" and exciting first two weeks together.
The couple proceeded to date for over a year, and Alina, who said she's a virgin, seemed proud over the fact she and Steven were both "pure" and intended to save themselves for marriage.
Steven initially planned to move to Russia so Alina could finish college, but the coronavirus pandemic drastically affected and changed their plans.
"The borders closed into Russia and so we had to look for another country where we could be together. We happened to find Turkey, which allows both Russians and Americans, so we're moving to Turkey!" Steven revealed.
Alina therefore had to take a year off from her schooling to reunite with Steven, and her mother and girlfriends weren't pleased about everything her daughter was giving up for a man she barely knew.
Steven said he and Alina must marry right away in Turkey so he could apply for a spousal visa and they'd only have 90 days to do so, since both partners were traveling on Tourist Visas.
Steven imagined there wouldn't be any problems, but he was afraid to tell Alina that he had lied and actually had sex before.

And Alina was already struggling with trust issues considering Steven had asked her if he could date other women a couple of weeks into their relationship and appeared to have several attractive female friends.
Once the pair moved to Turkey together, Alina demanded they sleep in the same apartment -- in order to feel safe and protected -- when Steven had wanted to live apart so he wouldn't be tempted to have sex.

Alina also decided to test Steven's faithfulness and loyalty by asking her pretty Russian friend Masha to message Steven on Instagram and flirt with him. Alina wanted to see if Steven would respond or maybe even hit on Masha.
Alina also wanted to find out whether Steven would say he has a girlfriend.
"I hope it won't work," Alina noted. "If he doesn't pass this test, my heart will be broken. I don't know what I'm going to do after that."
Although Alina had given up so much to be with Steven, he said he didn't want to get married right away because he wasn't ready, and she apparently found that "painful."
Alina was already struggling with the fact Steven had spent so much time with female friends, and Steven confessed he had hung out with some of his girlfriends one-on-one, "like a date."

"But about a month ago when I found out we'd be able to move to Turkey together, I stopped going on dates. Dating those women helped me realize that it's definitely Alina I want to be with, but I'm not ready to get married yet."
Alina was very upset to learn Steven had gone on dates with other women during their relationship, and Steven apologized for hurting her.
"It's a huge betrayal... and I feel he has more secrets that he hides from me," Alina said in a confessional.
Steven told Alina that she should trust him because he had given up his whole life in America to be with her and she's "more important" to him "than anything."
Alina later followed up with her pretty Russian friend Masha, who had sneakily messaged Steven on Instagram -- at Alina's request -- to test his loyalty and faithfulness to his relationship and future with Alina.
Masha said it was "a red flag" that Steven had lied to Alina about going on dates with other women.
Masha then revealed to Alina that Steven had answered her Instagram message with "hey," a smiley emoticon, and the following message, "They say we have the best snow in the entire world. Better to come in the winter?"
Masha thought that sounded like an invitation from Steven to have Masha visit him in the United States, even though he didn't know her at all.

"I was hoping to find out that Steven didn't reply or at least just said that he has a girlfriend," Alina explained. "But he invited her to go to America. I am like, 'What is he doing?'"
Alina said Steven's politeness worried her, and Masha advised Alina to stand her ground and have a tough conversation with Steven. Masha wanted to see Steven put a ring on Alina's finger.
"I don't think I know who is the real Steven anymore," Alina lamented.

Steven later admitted to Alina he had kissed some of the girls he dated while he was dating Alina, and she said she felt "furious and hurt" and didn't know what to do.
Steven said he was scared about giving everything up for Alina and so that's the way he dealt with that fear.
Alina asked Steven to stop communicating with his female friends, but Steven said even Jesus had female friends and he could be completely faithful to Alina while maintaining those friendships.
Alina therefore suggested Steven should delete his social media, which would make her feel more comfortable.
"I am willing to submit to you. I will delete my social media," Steven replied.
Alina still had her doubts, but Steven was showing that he was willing to make changes. She was also happy about the fact he wouldn't be able to reply to Masha again.
"I need to tell Alina that there was more than just kissing and since we had met each other, I had some sexual relationships with some of those girls with whom I had gone on dates," Steven said.
"If we're going to get married, she needs to know... but it's only going to get worse when I tell her what I need to tell her."
Alina later asked Steven to go wine tasting when he doesn't drink alcohol or do drugs as a Mormon. She suggested they could taste and spit out the wine, but he was still surprised and taken aback.
"Something else I wanted to kind of confess -- I haven't been 100 percent open and candid with you about my past," Steven told Alina during the wine tasting, trying to squash the secrets that kept them apart.

"So many words," Alina replied in disbelief.
Alina's mother then visited the couple in Turkey, and Steven attempted to convince Anna to join his religion so that his future children would have a Mormon grandmother. Anna, however, was already disciplined in Orthodox beliefs -- and she noted how that would be a huge change in her life as well as a big decision.
Steven knew Anna would play a big role in his child's life and have influence.
Alina appeared frustrated that Steven was trying to convert her mother, and she said it was "not appropriate," especially because they had been fighting.
"I don't like that Steven is pushing that on my mother," Alina shared in a confessional.
Alina then announced how Steven had broken the commandment of chastity because she believed he was being very hypocritical.
Alina thought it was ridiculous Steven was asking her mother to follow church rules "that he couldn't even follow."
Alina's mom pointed out how Steven had been born into a Mormon family and therefore didn't really have a choice in what to believe in, and she was concerned about Alina having to follow all the rules of his faith.
"So it looks like you can live without coffee but you can't live without sex," Alina's mom told Steven.
"Yes, interesting question," Alina responded.
Steven wished and Alina could have spoken about this in private first, but he explained how he had been tested and given he's had sex before, he knew how much he was sacrificing for his religion. Alina then asked Steven to stop making excuses.

"I hate hypocrites. I think it's one of the worst qualities in a person," Alina said.
"He broke this order after we met with someone who wasn't me. At that time, I already thought I was important to him. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed every day."

Alina told Steven that she still loved him and nothing had changed for her, although she had been initially thinking Steven was going to be her Prince Charming and fairy tale.
Alina said she had never expected things to unfold this way and she and Steven were definitely far from getting married.
Steven asked Alina to give him time to apologize and prove himself to be the husband she deserves.
Alina asked her mother if she believed Steven, and she replied, "I don't."
Steven worried all of his promises wouldn't be enough for Alina, who wondered if Steven would really change for her. Alina's mom told her flat out to break up with Steven.
Alina wasn't sure if Steven could really change and become the person she wanted to be with, but she felt pretty certain that he loved her.
Alina decided to give Steven another chance since everyone makes mistakes. She wanted Steven to prove and show her that he's a good person, and Steven said he didn't want to lose Alina because she meant the world to him.
Anna wished Alina would return to Russia with her, but she couldn't tell her adult daughter what to do.

Alina, however, expected Steven to honor his words and delete his social-media accounts.
"I'm kind of regretting that promise," Steven said, acknowledging that he never anticipated Alina would follow through on making him do that.
Steven told Alina that since he didn't have a cell phone, he needed social media to contact his family in emergencies. Alina just found Steven "putting it off" very frustrating.
"If you don't delete your accounts, I'm not sure that I can stay here and that I can trust you. Prove that you love me," Alina requested.
Steven agreed to do as Alina wished in order to help her feel more secure and confident in their relationship, but she still wasn't sure about marrying Steven.
Steven said he needed some time before deleting his accounts, and she accused him of dragging her feet.
Alina then asked Steven if he had received a message from a Russian woman named Masha, and she admitted that it was all a test and she had asked her friend to flirt with him.
Steven was very surprised Alina had tried to set him up, but Alina said, "You didn't tell me about her, which means you lied again... I know what you were talking about. I know everything."
Steven said he thought it would be "cool" for Masha to visit them and so he asked her if she could bring a swimsuit. Steven told Alina that he meant it as "a kind gesture," and then Alina replied, "You're going to delete your social-media accounts right now."

"You always have excuses," Alina said. "You are not serious about our relationship and about everything."
"I am as serious as you are," Steven insisted. "Baby, come on. I love you, you know what, right?"
Alina responded, "Show me that you love me! Prove it!"
Alina said she was "done" with Steven's excuses.
So did Alina and Steven break up or stay together? Is the 90 Day Fiance couple still together now?
On October 25, Steven wrote on Instagram, "Since that scene [of Alina asking me to delete social media] I still have not created a new Facebook, TikTok, or any other social media besides Instagram which she was okay with me keeping."
"I actually planned on deleting my Instagram but she insisted that Facebook was my problem. Now I want to start being more active," he added.
And on October 13, Alina seemed to hint she's still together with Steven.
"Meet me at sunset on a paradise island where colors and dreams burst into life from the horizon," Alina captioned a photo of herself in Santorini, Greece.
"Not long ago my life was totally different. Totally normal. But I followed my heart and now life couldn't be better. To anyone who feels like they are missing something I say follow your heart."

However, one of Alina's followers pointed out how a woman following her heart can be leaving a relationship and that Alina's post did not imply there is even a man in her life.

Steven apparently went out with Chantel and Pedro after filming an episode of 90 Day Bares All for discovery+ in Los Angeles, CA, and @90dayfiancenow obtained and posted the photos.
Just because Steven was out with another woman, that doesn't mean their relationship was sexual or romantic.
But Alina clearly wasn't okay with Steven hanging out with his female friends on the show, and Alina would probably be upset over the outing appearing to be a double date.
In mid-September, Alina hinted that she was still in a relationship with Steven but she clearly wasn't happy and there seemed to be trouble in paradise.
Alina wrote on Instagram that she had been working on her "self-esteem."
Alina took to Instagram over the weekend of September 10 and posted a selfie of herself in heavy, futuristic makeup in metallic and dark shades.
"Somebody with a V didn't really like this photo. But I think I look good here and it took me a really long time to do this makeup," Alina captioned the picture, which also featured the reality TV star rocking hoop earrings and a white blouse.
"Girls, don't let a man decide if you look beautiful or not," she added.
Alina also added a blowing-kiss emoticon and the following hashtags to her post: #90dayfiance #90dayfiancetheotherway #90pillowtalk #realitytv #realityshow #90dayfiancetellall #90dayfiancenews.
Alina's post seemingly suggested her Mormon boyfriend disapproved of and/or criticized her edgy, modern look.
Many of Alina's followers pointed out how it seemed Steven was in "trouble" with Alina, who apparently took a shot at her man.

"You look amazing girl!!! Always," Evelin Villegas commented on the post.
And Kenny Niedermeier wrote, "Take it from a Y, [fire emoji]."
