Andrew, a 32-year-old daycare owner and operator from Roseville, CA, met Amira, a 28-year-old from Saumur, France, on an international dating website.RELATED LINK: '90 DAY FIANCE' COUPLES NOW: WHO IS STILL TOGETHER? WHO HAS SPLIT? WHERE ARE THEY NOW? (PHOTOS)
After the pair only spent three days together in Las Vegas, Andrew proposed marriage to his half-French, half-Egyptian love interest, and Amira believed at the time Andrew would "move heaven and earth" for her and treat her like a princess.
Amira finally received her K-1 visa after more than one year of waiting, but at that point, she couldn't travel to America due to a travel ban put in place amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple therefore decided to travel to Mexico as "a loophole," where they could quarantine for 14 days and then try to enter the United States together.
Amira confessed she wanted to stay patient until the U.S. reopened its borders but she was feeling pressure from Andrew to travel to Mexico, which her father insisted was not love.
"He said if I don't do the trip, he's going to resent me forever," Amira revealed.
Once Amira landed in Mexico, she was unfortunately detained right at the airport and had her passport and phone taken away from her.
Andrew had no idea what was going on or how to find out where Amira was located, and he said he felt helpless. He was shown researching, calling authorities and tracking down immigration centers.
After three days in detainment, Amira was put on a flight back to Amsterdam, and she was pretty distraught about the whole experience.
"Nobody deserves to go through that... I had no dignity. They just want us to feel like we are nothing," Amira lamented, adding that being detained was "the worst nightmare" of her life.
Andrew said he recognized Amira had been traumatized, but he still suggested that Amira travel to Serbia next and try to quarantine there for 14 days before flying to the U.S. Andrew said he couldn't join Amira in Serbia because of his work requirements.

In July 2020, Amira's father called Andrew "a coward" and said if Amira traveled to Serbia, he wouldn't speak to her again.
Amira said she was "heartbroken" that her father was threatening to end their relationship, and she felt totally "torn" in between her dad and her love.
Andrew told Amira the decision about Serbia belonged to her and her alone, but Amira said she felt pressure to do things Andrew's way, the more risky option.
To make Andrew happy, Amira agreed to go to Serbia and lived in a hotel for two weeks despite riots in the street and a lack of options for food amid COVID-19.
With 15 days until Amira's K-1 visa was going to expire, Amira and Andrew spoke on FaceTime and Amira said ever since Andrew had become an uncle to his sister Connie's child, he was "obsessed" about having a kid of his own.
Amira said she wanted to be a mother one day but "not right now" and wouldn't want to have children at all if the couple continued to fight all the time.
Amira said she wanted Andrew to behave better so they could be in a good place before becoming parents, and Andrew felt Amira was saying the nature of their relationship wasn't worth bringing children into.

When Amira and Andrew only had five days left on her K-1 visa, Andrew was feeling anxious about Amira's arrival the next day because she had described him as an angry person.
"Maybe kids just aren't in my path," Andrew lamented to his mother Lori, who argued, "That is not the case."

The following day, when Amira was supposed to get on a plane to come to the United States, she texted Andrew saying that she never got on the flight. The couple only had four days to marry.
Amira had completed her two weeks in Serbia but told Andrew that she had "a panic attack" in the airport.
Andrew lamented to his mother, "I think that I failed. I think I f-cked it up."
About 24 hours earlier in Belgrade, Serbia, Amira was shown having an emotional breakdown in her hotel room.
"I thought he was a good person to me. I thought he was The One," Amira cried hysterically.
Amira said Andrew had called her and picked a fight just a few hours before she was supposed to board her plane to the U.S. to finally reunite with Andrew.
"He's telling me, 'It's not working out between us. We are not on the same page about having children.' I am so hurt right now because Andrew is the man I want to spend my whole life with," Amira recalled.
Amira said Andrew had been yelling at her and sending "mean" text messages, which left her feeling "in shock."
"I'm telling him, 'I love you and you know that,' and he's not stopping. And then he texted me a ticket to go to Paris," Amira claimed.

Andrew added, "The children at the daycare are far better team players. You make your choices."
Amira cried saying she had done her absolute best in the relationship and didn't want to give up on Andrew, especially since she had survived a 14-day quarantine in Serbia. Amira said she still loved Andrew.

Amira therefore decided to go to the airport, check her bag and prepare to fly to the U.S.
But Amira said Andrew called her once she made it to the airport and said she was going to meet "an angry fiance" after her flight to the U.S. Amira therefore became overwhelmed with fear in the moment and decided not to get on the plane.
"Nothing makes sense anymore. I feel really completely lost. I phone my dad because I'm just feeling like I'm at a dead end," Amira said.
Amira planned to return to France and beg her father Hamdi for forgiveness.
Once Amira informed Andrew that she wasn't going to fly to America, Andrew asked her to send the rings back.
"There's no, 'Oh I'm sorry baby, I pushed you too much this night. I went too far,' no," Amira complained.
"If he would have done that, maybe I would have taken another flight to the U.S. But the only thing is, 'Can you send me your ring back?' And so that's it. I decided to go back to France."
Amira said she had been so proud to call Andrew her future husband and now their relationship was over.

Andrew's mother felt Amira had "bait and switched" her son. Since Amira spent 14 days in Serbia and then didn't get on her plane to the United States, Lori vented, "How dare you?"
Lori said she felt anger and frustration and her son deserved a lot more than an explanation like, "I had an anxiety attack." Lori acknowledged her son had invested two years into this relationship and it was a very unfortunate situation.

Andrew wished Amira had called her when she was feeling anxiety at the airport, and he accused her of not putting any effort into fixing their relationship and working things out.
"Her tone had shifted to one that was cold and distant, and I did my best to work past it. But ultimately, I should have seen the signs," Andrew explained in a confessional.
Andrew believed Amira's decision was "a culmination of many things," especially since they had a few arguments before she was scheduled to fly to America. Lori, however, didn't even believe that Amira actually had an anxiety attack.
Andrew insisted he wasn't angry but acknowledged that he felt "a profound sense of defeat."
Andrew said if he and Amira still wanted to be together, he'd have to reapply for her K-1 visa and that would be too much. Andrew resigned himself to thinking he and Amira simply didn't have their chance to be happy.
Meanwhile, Amira was back in France after quarantining for two weeks in Serbia. Amira said she felt safer in her home country but felt "heartbroken" about the whole trip.
"I gave everything I had to that relationship. I did everything in my power to make it work, and in return, I'm just put in tough situations. Like, why?... I don't understand," Amira cried.
Amira called her trip to Serbia "a wake-up call" because she realized that she and Andrew were "not meant to be."

Amira returned to her childhood home and said her relationship was over and she wouldn't be getting married. Amira's father Hamdi was apparently not surprised when he heard what happened because he had never trusted Andrew.
Amira said Hamdi was happy that no one was going to hurt his daughter anymore, but Amira couldn't believe things had ended up this way.

"I was supposed to be happy [with Andrew], and now it's over apparently," Amira said.
"I am in a rebuild process. I have to go back to my studies. I'm gonna finish my Bachelor degree, I'm gonna find a job, and I'm going to be an independent woman that doesn't have to rely on someone. And I'm gonna try to love myself again."
Amira added in a confessional, "And I don't want to talk to Andrew ever again. I am not willing to let him control me ever again!"
Part 1 of 90 Day Fiance's eighth-season Tell-All special airs Sunday, April 11 on TLC, with Part 2 airing the following week.
According to a preview for Part 1 of the Tell-All special, Amira apparently refused to talk to Andrew via videochat from Europe and Andrew walked off the set in frustration, saying he wasn't going to stick around if he couldn't even talk to Amira.
Amira was also shown complaining about how she had seen Andrew back on the same dating websites where they had first met.
So where does Amira and Andrew's relationship stand now after they broke up on 90 Day Fiance's eighth season?
In early April, Amira posted a photo of herself in a sexy corset and captioned it, "Your worth is not measured by the actions of others."In late March, Amira hinted she's single and her relationship with Andrew is over because she captioned another sexy photo of herself in denim, "Finding myself again."

Once her breakup with Andrew aired on 90 Day Fiance's eighth season, Amira wrote in a series of tweets, "I did everything for him and yet it was never ever enough! I was never enough."
"I just wish he would leave me alone and he and his mom would stop cyber bullying me. When will I get free? #toxicrelationshipsurvivor," she added.
"We never fully realize how abusive the relationship is until we are out of it! At first I got lost in his eyes, then I lost myself in my relationship. I spent the last two years apologizing over and over again. Today I'm unapologetic!"
On March 1, Amira also reposted a screenshot of an In Touch Weekly tweet in which the magazine tweeted, "'You look like an ugly piece of mud that is rubber all over the wall. Just like your personality and morals,' read a comment Andrew's mother allegedly left on a recent photo of Amira."
The @FraudedMedia Instagram account had captured the initial screenshot of Lori's message that has since been deleted.
Amira reportedly said she was "so shocked" and had "no words" about Lori's post. She also added the hashtags "#90dayfiancedrama," "stopbullying" and "stopracism" to her repost.
90 Day Fiance's Season 8 cast apparently traveled to Los Angeles, CA, to film the show's Tell-All in late February.
On February 28, Jovi Dufren took to his Instagram Story and seemed to take Andrew's side in his breakup with Amira.
"Who else thinks Amira is lying about Andrew[?]" Jovi wrote, according to In Touch. "I just think she wants to be on TV [man shrugging shoulders emoticon."
Amira reportedly responded by saying she respected and valued Jovi's opinion.

Hours later, Andrew reportedly reposted Jovi's statement and seemed to agree with the belief Amira had used him to be on television.
"Thank you [praying hands emoji] Jovi and [Yara Zaya] for your skeptical eye and honesty. In a world full of misinformation, the truth means a lot," Andrew wrote, according to In Touch.
"Y'all should get to know them. They're absolutely great and please check out Yara's shop, she sells amazing jackets!!!"
Back in January, Andrew let off a lot of steam and anger about the apparent failure of his long-distance relationship.
Andrew slammed Amira on social media at the time saying she's a "fame hungry liar" and posted receipts trying to prove he's telling the truth.
Amira told 90 Day Fiance cameras she never wanted to go to Mexico to begin with but Andrew had been pushing the plans as a way for her to prove her love for him. Amira said Andrew would have been "resentful" if she hadn't agreed to the trip.
But Andrew took to his Instagram Stories and posted screenshots of alleged text messages that show Andrew had actually told his fiancee to make the decision about Mexico on her own.
"Here is the truth: Amira was the one to make the decision, she was on the forum, she bought the ticket, chose the date, and much more! Want to see something interesting? Ask for her detention paperwork?" Andrew wrote on the screenshots.
"Your heart ain't what I always knew. Choose who you want to believe -- I've shown you actual evidence in these texts, and it's laughable if you just want to ignore what is written on an official government document. My integrity is worth way more than a silly tv show. No need for fame, lip fillers, or filters here. Y'all never met a real one like me."

Andrew also insisted he never wanted to star on 90 Day Fiance to begin with.
"All I ever did was support someone else's dream!!" he wrote. "My presence on your screen is even further proof of that. I honestly never needed or wanted this show haha. Keep that in mind when you decide who you believe."
In the alleged text messages Andrew shared with his followers, he wrote to Amira about their Mexico trip, "I can't do the back and forth, you are making decisions... I support whatever you choose.
Amira allegedly told Andrew later on that she had booked her plane ticket, adding, "U come whenever u can in Mexico, there is no rush."
And Andrew allegedly replied, "Ok baby, you've made a strong decision."
After more time passed, Andrew apparently checked on Amira's final decision and she wrote to him, "I will take responsibility of it," to which Andrew responded, "I will respect whatever you choose baby."
And the drama didn't stop there!
Andrew also bashed Amira's claim that the pair didn't communicate once she returned to France after being detained in Mexico City for three days because Andrew was busy having too much fun on his vacation.
"We talked everyday when she was released! Calls and texts!" Andrew wrote in his Instagram Stories.

Andrew went as far as releasing three more screenshots of the pair's alleged text messages at that time and wrote above each image, "BAD LIAR."

The screenshots do show Amira allegedly telling Andrew in a text message, "I love u baby, enjoy the resort, send me pics!"
Andrew in reply allegedly said, "I never want you to have to experience that baby, I am so in awe of your strength. I love you soooooo much, I will take some good pics for you baby. I think of you ALWAYS!!!"
The screenshots also apparently show that Andrew texted Amira saying that he hoped she was in a better place and he missed her. In reply, Amira allegedly expressed her love for Andrew and didn't seem mad at all.
"Love u baby... You are my everything baby," Amira allegedly texted her boyfriend after returning to France.
In response to criticism Andrew never hired a translator to help him find Amira when she was detained, Andrew assured his followers, "I DID... I got a good one!"
Andrew shared a screenshot of an alleged exchange he had with a translator and wrote, "One of the incredibly helpful translators and investigators who aided me during Amira's detention!!! Stop believing nonsense!"
The screenshot showed the translator giving Andrew a phone number for immigration since the airport couldn't disclose any information about Amira's whereabouts, and Andrew replied by thanking the person repeatedly and then saying, "I am going to follow that lead with the immigration office."

Andrew insisted he never stopped to relax in Mexico until he knew Amira was safe and sound.
On April 10, 2021, Andrew also took to his Instagram Stories and posted a lengthy series of screenshots of texts and ticket receipts that appear to show he had also originally purchased an airline ticket that would have allowed Amira's father Hamdi to fly to Serbia with her and stay there with her before she flew on to America.
However, according Andrew's postings, Amira later texted him that Hamdi would no longer be able to accompany Amira to Serbia because had been hospitalized with hypertension and diabetes issues.

The alleged texts also showed Amira gushing about the hotel and the surrounding area after arriving in Serbia, as well as telling Andrew to "just pretend like [you] don't know anything" and act like they hadn't already been chatting before an upcoming videochat session that was going to be filmed by 90 Day Fiance's producers.
During his April 10 Instagram Stories postings, Andrew also insisted the argument 90 Day Fiance viewers saw on the show "was not about kids at all" and he and Amira broke up because Amira had suddenly "acquired an agent and was demanding money."
"Not my proudest moment, I could have and should have done better. I apologize to all who were triggered by that scene," he captioned alleged texts that appeared to show him upset at Amira but still offering to help her "sort out a ticket" to fly back home to France from Serbia.
"I was very angry, surrounded by the children at work, and my fiancé was pulling a confusing last minute money play. Paying for her ticket was a kindness, I was upset but still wanted her to get home safe."
Andrew also posted screenshots that appeared to show him texting a 90 Day Fiance field producer and attempting to suddenly cancel that day's filming plans after Amira "got some agent in Serbia" and had emailed him demanding "payment."
However, the field producer alleged replied back telling him the film crew had been assembled and urged him to still proceed with the filming plans given Amira was set to arrive in America the very next day.
If not, the field producer appeared to warn, the show would have to instead shoot staged scenes at a later date.
"Look whatever this all is I'm sure they will figure it out. I don't have anything to do with payment and nor do I know what anyone gets paid that's not got producers to know," the producer allegedly replied.
"We just have crew here and everyone is ready to shoot. When things get worked [out] we still need to shoot this stuff and we can't do this any other day as she comes tomorrow. Then we fake things which I know you don't like [nor] do we :)"
