The Family Chantel premiered with an explosive reunion for Chantel Everett's parents, Karen and Thomas, and her husband Pedro Jimeno as well as Pedro dropping a bombshell about his mother and sister during Monday night's broadcast on TLC.

The Family Chantel broadcast began with Chantel having a conversation with her brother River. Chantel hadn't seen her family since she returned from the Dominican Republic a few days prior.

River said Chantel always seemed unhappy and her emotions stemmed from her relationship with Pedro.

River said he used to have a special bond with Chantel, but after she married Pedro, there had been a Domino effect of drama and things had changed.

"We don't talk as much. I honestly miss the friendship I had with my sister. But if she needs me I'm there, and I'd like to believe if I need her, she'll be there," River told the cameras.

Chantel tells her family her marriage "is a scam"

Once Chantel reunited with her family, she hesitated to tell them the truth about the events that had transpired in the Dominican Republic.

But then she let loose and explained Pedro had danced with several women during his stay with his family. Chantel said one little girl was "all up on his crotch," and Chantel's mother Karen called the behavior very "disrespectful."

Karen told Chantel that Pedro needed to apologize to her and Pedro needed to be dealt with.

Winter felt bad for her sister Chantel, saying her marriage had engulfed the entire family. And River just wished Chantel had listened to his concerns about Pedro earlier.

"Even though I might say some good advice, she never listens to me," River said in a confessional.

"In the back of my mind, I didn't want to be right. I didn't want my sister to be manipulated, played with and used, but now we have to deal with the problem. How long is this going to go on? Because I want it to stop right now."

Chantel then opened up about how her friend Obed claimed Pedro's family wanted Pedro to marry an American girl so that he could obtain a job in the U.S. and send money home.

"I basically found out that our whole marriage is a scam," Chantel told her family.

Karen that gloated that she "knew it" and saw that from the beginning.

"It's almost borderline body trafficking," Karen said, referencing how Pedro's family allegedly used Chantel.

Karen told Chantel the family would help her get out of her marriage, and then Chantel vented about how Pedro threatened her to go find another husband.

Karen and Thomas felt the need to step in and handle the situation because they believed Chantel's husband had "crossed the line."

Chantel, however, asked her family not to intervene. She wanted to handle the situation herself given it was her relationship they were talking about.

Karen was very upset, and so she decided to have a serious conversation with her son-in-law. Thomas asked Karen to be calm and refrain from being aggressive.

Chantel worried about what her family was going to say, because she knew there was "absolutely nothing" she could do to stop them.

Chantel's family decides to confront Pedro

Karen, Thomas and Winter then showed up at Chantel and Pedro's place to talk, and he appeared totally shocked.

Chantel said her family hadn't been in the same room with Pedro since he physically fought River at the dining table over one year ago.

Pedro was not happy Chantel's family bombarded him with questions -- and a taser -- in his own apartment, but Karen and Thomas demanded answers about his flirtation with other women.

Pedro refused to talk, so then Karen changed the subject and asked about Chantel's marriage being an alleged setup so that Pedro's family could benefit from and have access to the American economy.

"Is this true?" Karen asked in reference to Obed's claims.

Pedro said "yes" just so Chantel's family would hear what they wanted to hear. Pedro insisted the situation wasn't true but he was tired of fighting them and defending himself. It had been about four years at this point.

"You must think my daughter is like a business, like a store. But guess what? Nothing is for sale!" Karen yelled.

Karen told Pedro he needed to transform and grow, but then he and Chantel asked everyone to leave. Karen wasn't ready to leave, so instead, Pedro took off with someone's car even though he didn't have a driver's license.

Winter cried about there being so much upsetting drama between her loved ones. Winter just wanted her family to be happy and get along.

Pedro finally calmed down and exited the car. He said he could do whatever he wants in life and doesn't have to explain himself to his wife's family.

"He has lost his mind," Karen told the cameras. "I'm concerned about him, but most of all, I'm concerned about [Chantel]. I do not 100 percent feel Chantel is safe in her marriage, and that upsets me tremendously."

Chantel told her parents and Winter that she would handle things with Pedro on her own. Chantel felt "hopeless" and confessed she "never thought things would get this bad."

Pedro told Chantel afterwards that her family had no manners and they had no right to tell him how to behave in his marriage.

"Alright, I'm finished," Chantel said in tears, leaving the room.

Everyone takes some time to reflect

The next day, Chantel felt bad about what had transpired the night before because Pedro had been attacked and now they weren't on speaking terms.

Chantel thought everyone had taken things too far the night before, and so she hoped to find some peace spiritually by attending a mass at church with her loved ones.

Chantel's family was advised by a family friend, Bishop Watson, at church to attend family counseling in order to mend everyone's relationship with Pedro. Karen just wasn't sure everyone would agree to go.

And she was right, because River didn't want to participate, and Chantel had a feeling Pedro would never go along with it because he hated being around her family.

Karen hoped some of that hate in Pedro's heart would leave him.

That night, Chantel brought Pedro to a bar where there was sexy salsa dancing and people coupled up. She hoped to remind him of their chemistry, passion and the reasons why they fell in love to begin with.

Chantel apologized to Pedro for her family's actions. She said her mother had good intentions but didn't know how to express herself.

"Every time something happens, she runs straight to her family. And that makes more problems for me," Pedro vented in a confessional.

Chantel then suggested family counseling, but Pedro said he didn't want to see any of her relatives again because they were all "cuckoo in the head."

But Chantel thought counseling would be a good first step to everyone getting along, especially since her loved ones wanted to be a family unit with Pedro. She told Pedro counseling could strengthen their marriage and she couldn't go on with status quo.

Pedro therefore told Chantel that he would try because he wanted to support his wife and make her happy. The pair then danced the night away.

Chantel later spent some time with her sister Winter and mother Karen. They took a fun "twerking" class because they had bonded over dancing and cheering as little girls.

Winter confessed it was difficult living in Chantel's shadow because Chantel had always been so beautiful and fit. Winter said Chantel also got a lot of attention, especially considering her relationship with Pedro is now in the press.

Chantel thought it was a great day and the girls all had some fun.

But Winter had a boyfriend named Jah for over five years at the time of filming and Chantel worried he'd be mad about her twerking. The family seemed to know very little about Jah, who also has a daughter.

Karen said Winter's boyfriend was very quiet and never opened up, while Chantel didn't like how Jah had yet to put a ring on her sister's finger.

Chantel wanted to get to know Winter's boyfriend better, but Winter accused Chantel of never asking questions and being a little bit of a hypocrite.

Pedro's secret is revealed

Pedro was then shown FaceTiming his sister Nicole to share the news of his latest fight with Chantel's family and the fact he'd be going to family counseling.

"You should have called the police!" Nicole said. "Each time they show me how crazy they are, how they have psychological problems."

Nicole was tired of Chantel's family "attacking" Pedro, and she thought the situation was very ugly.

Nicole then dropped a bomb on viewers.

"Did you tell her that mommy and I are coming to live in the United States?" Nicole asked Pedro on the phone.

Pedro revealed he wanted to bring his family over to the United States because it's the American dream.

"But I have not told Chantel yet. I am scared," Pedro told the cameras.

Pedro was afraid to add to the problems that already existed between Chantel and himself and their two families. He expected Chantel to be "so pissed" with him.

"Listen to me. You have to say to her, 'Either you accept it or if you don't want to continue with me, then leave me. We'll end this. We'll get a divorce.' Period. Get a divorce. Leave her," Nicole told her brother.
