90 Day Fiance: The Other Way star Corey Rathgeber has revealed details of his quickie marriage to Evelin Villegas and why they chose to keep it a secret for over two years.

But in light of the fact 90 Day Fiance fans are only hearing about the secret ceremony now, Corey and Evelin have been accused of faking their storyline and essentially lying to fans, especially since they post about their relationship constantly on social media.
"Here is the full and complete story of when and how me and Evelin got married!" Corey captioned a slideshow of photos from the couple's big day Monday on Instagram.
"We didn't tell anyone because Evelin wasn't ready for her family or anyone to know she had gotten married at that time. I respected her wishes. We decided to keep it a secret."
As shown on a recent episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way's third season on TLC, Evelin broke the news to her two sisters that she had already married Corey so he could stay in Ecuador long-term while the three girls were out shopping for Evelin's wedding dress. (Evelin and Corey were planning a real, big wedding about five months from that point).
Evelin's sisters appeared bewildered and disappointed, and they said they didn't even like Corey because he had allegedly attempted to hook up with a girl named Jenny in Peru when he and Evelin were on a break.
At the time Evelin unveiled her "last-minute" marriage to her sisters, she made it known that their parents had not even been made aware of her secret nuptials.
"The production team was not made aware of this because we had just finished filming our first season," explained Corey, who initially starred on Season 1 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way with Evelin.
"At the time we were not in talks with filming again. So we didn't feel obligated to inform them. It was a very private and special moment for us!"

Corey said when he and Evelin arrived in Guayaquil to wed, they had forgotten "one very important fact."

So we went out to the streets in search of 2 random strangers to help us out. It took some time. We offered $20 to a couple and they decided to help us out," Corey recalled.
Corey said the entire marriage process only took "a few hours" and "that was it."
"We were married! It was a very special and surreal moment shared only with the one I love! I am happy and so [grateful]. I will never forget that wonderful and crazy experience," Corey shared.
Corey revealed that he did eventually tell one cast member about his secret marriage, which apparently turned out to be a big mistake.
"Unfortunately, she preceded to tell everyone and attempted to make it as public as possible," Corey claimed of the mystery woman whom Evelin had once considered a friend.
While Corey did not disclose the identity of the cast member with alleged loose lips, many of Corey's followers guessed fellow 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way star Laura Jallali, who had once visited Evelin in Ecuador and spent a lengthy period of time with the couple.
Some fans also threw out Larissa Dos Santos Lima's name considering she and Corey had hung out in Las Vegas in early October 2019, which resulted in Evelin putting Corey on blast and bashing him out of anger on social media during another one of the couple's breaks.

"The reality was that she just wanted to hurt us. It was very wrong and disappointing. I hope this clears up some of the rumors that are out there."
Although Corey and Evelin chose to star on reality TV, Corey insisted the pair still has "the right to privacy" and that's why they weren't open and honest about their marriage to begin with.
"Primarily during that time and for that moment. We are not hiding anything from you guys. This season will update you on everything that is to come," Corey explained.
"Thank you to all that stand by and support me and Evelin. It really does mean so much to us! Thank you to all that watch and enjoy our story. [Evelin], I love you with all my heart."

Evelin and Corey initially posted about their secret courthouse-style wedding on September 16, and Evelin insisted on Instagram Stories at the time she and Corey had never meant to fool or mislead people.
"[I] wasn't ready to be a married lady... [It had] nothing to do with the show," Evelin said of why they kept their marriage under wraps.
"I'm not an actress, so how can I freakin' pretend the proposal and everything we've been through? All of that was really real, and we are not fake."
Corey and Evelin began dating in 2014 and got engaged on the Season 1 finale of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, which aired in October 2019.
The show went on to feature Evelin appearing reluctant and hesitant to tie the knot with Corey because she had never envisioned herself being a married, settled-down woman.
While planning their big wedding in Ecuador on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way's third season, Evelin was also trying to build trust with Corey again after his fling with Jenny.
Corey said he was excited about their upcoming nuptials but confessed to the cameras he hadn't been entirely honest with Evelin about what actually happened with Jenny in Peru.
