The Intervention-like reality series will continue to follow people who are addicted to hoarding, a mental disorder marked by an obsessive need to collect things, even if the items are worthless, hazardous or unsanitary.

Each episode concludes with the extreme collector working with experts in an attempt to overcome their disorder and put their life back on track.

Hoarders' second-season premiere will focus on Augustine, whose son Jason was removed from her home by Child Protective Services 14 years ago because of her hoarding. Her habits have since become so bad that she has lived without water, gas, heat or appliances for the last four years -- bathing only once a week at her sister's house.

The city has threatened to condemn her house and her son wants to help her turn her life around, prompting the help of experts.

Hoarders premiered on A&E in August and it is produced by Screaming Flea Productions.

In addition to Hoarders' second-season premiere, A&E announced Intervention's eighth season will debut on Monday November 30 at 9PM ET/PT.
