A&E Network has announced that the sixth season of The First 48, a reality series that takes viewers beyond the yellow tape as homicide detectives attempt to solve murders in the 48 hours after they occur, will premiere on Thursday, July 12 at 9PM ET.

Each hour-long episode of The First 48 follows detectives from its roster of police department homicide specialists located in Miami, Memphis, Dallas, Kansas City, Detroit -- and, new for the show's sixth season -- Cincinnati.
During The First 48's sixth-season premiere episode, Dallas Detective Eddie Ibarra is called to investigate the brutal murder of a 52-year-old mother who spent twenty years of her life working for the blind. The murder occurs in the woman's office building, and to Ibarra's surprise, the whole incident is recorded on one of the building's surveillance cameras. Even more shocking, the killer's face is revealed, and now Ibarra has the task of putting a name to the suspect's image before he has time to flee.
The First 48, which is the highest rated non-fiction justice series on cable, is executive produced by Laura Fleury and Nancy Dubuc for A&E. The series is produced for A&E by Granada America, and Charles Tremayne and John X. Kim are executive producers. Its senior series producer is Wendy Greene.
