Having already relocated its The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise from California to New York City for the show's two most recent editions, ABC yesterday announced its latest attempt to recapture the ratings success of the now struggling series -- moving the show's filming location 4,000 miles further east, to Paris, France.

Since The Bachelor's ratings slide has resulted in ABC leaving the show off its Fall 2005 schedule and instead planning to debut the eighth edition in January 2006, The Bachelor's producers are still taking nominations for their latest leading man. Specifically, they're seeking an "accomplished CEO, doctor, lawyer, entrepreneur or business man" who is also "handsome, ambitious, charming, successful" and (hopefully most importantly) looking to settle down.
Anyone interested in nominating a bachelor (including attention-starved men seeking to nominate themselves) can visit TheBachelor.tv or call The Bachelor "hotline" at (866) 739-3150. The deadline for tape submissions is August 17, 2005.
While the show has yet to begin filming, it appears that other than the move to Paris, The Bachelor 8 will remain true to the show's traditional format. According to ABC, the series will once again begin with twenty-five bachelorettes. As usual, the bachelor will get the know the women through a series of solo and group dates -- only this time the sights will include locations like the top of the Eiffel Tower, the breathtaking Champs Elysies, and the historic Arc de Triomphe. Once the bachelor narrows the field to his final few women, everyone will fly back across the Atlantic Ocean for the show's traditional "hometown dates."
