Believing that turnabout is fair play, the ABC Television Network will air "The Bachelorette," a six-episode series in which one woman, Trista Rehn, meets 25 men and begins the courtship process in an attempt to find true romance with one special guy. Rehn was originally introduced to viewers during the first installment of "The Bachelor," ABC's romance reality series in which one man met 25 women, narrowed the field to just Trista and another, but ultimately rejected Trista. The series premieres WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8 (9:00 - 10:00 p.m. EST).

In the premiere episode, Trista hosts a cocktail party at her beautifully appointed "bachelorette pad" nestled high in the hills above Los Angeles. Following the same format as the first "Bachelor" series, she is introduced to 25 handsome and successful men. By the end of the evening, she faces the daunting task of selecting 15 she would like to know better, and presents each one with a single red rose. But at this point and every point thereafter, the men can either accept or decline her invitation to continue on the journey. The men who accept the rose will then move into a house together for much of their courtship with Trista.

During the subsequent five episodes, via a series of dates and social gatherings, the number of romantic hopefuls continues to narrow, from 15 to eight, then four and, ultimately, to the one man who captures her heart.
The show will provide an in-depth, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of each participant involved in this unique dating process. Trista travels to exciting, romantic locations with the gentlemen, introduces them to her family and friends, and visits their hometowns to meet their parents in an effort to determine the man with whom she is most compatible.
At the end of the journey, she will have had yet another unforgettable experience and quite possibly, have found true love. But the big question is: After all of this, will her choice lead to a proposal? And if so, who does the asking?
As for the qualities of her ideal mate, Trista offers: "Now that I'm on the 'other side of the rose,' so to speak, I hope to find an ambitious and confident man who has a great sense of humor and is a strong conversationalist. While physical attractiveness is good, chemistry is far more important to me. I'd like to think we'd still be making each other laugh 50 years from now!"
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Trista was an outgoing tomboy who excelled in soccer, swimming and softball. Her family moved to St. Louis when she was just four, but by age 11 her parents divorced. Although she was only child, she spent countless hours with neighboring families and developed strong relationships with them that continue even today.
Trista graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Exercise Science. In 1995 she was accepted at the University of Miami, where she pursued her Master's degree and graduated with honors. Her passion for dancing led her to successfully audition for the NBA's Miami Heat dancers. She spent two seasons on their squad while maintaining a full time job at Miami Children's Hospital. Now living in Los Angeles, Trista prepares for the second chapter in the adventure of a lifetime - the search for true love. Her birth date is October 28th.
Chris Harrison (host of "The Bachelor" and HGTV's popular primetime series "Designers' Challenge") guides this romantic journey - serving as friend and confidante. Having found true love with a college sweetheart who is now his wife, Harrison is in a unique position to offer sound advice during this process.
