Supermodel Albert Reed was Dancing with the Stars' fifth-season "dark horse," however he never even had the opportunity to leave the stable.

"I wasn't expecting it. I really wasn't expecting it," said Reed during a Wednesday night Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance that followed his elimination on Dancing with the Stars 5's second live results show broadcast. "I don't know where that came from... I'm flabbergasted."
The 22-year-old -- who has appeared in numerous ads for Abercrombie & Fitch -- and his professional partner Anna Trebunskaya were among the bottom two couples based on a combination of the judges' scores from Monday night's performance episode and home viewer votes cast following the broadcast. Entertainer Wayne Newton and professional partner Cheryl Burke were the other couple in the result show's bottom two.
While Dancing with the Stars' judges scored Albert and Anna's quickstep a 21 out of a possible 30 points and awarded Wayne and Cheryl's quickstep routine a 15 -- the lowest score of any of the 11 couples who performed -- Mr. Las Vegas apparently has a larger fan base than the male model, as he was saved to dance for at least another week.
"Well of course... It's Wayne Newton!" Reed told Kimmel. "It's a popularity thing. It's a popularity contest. There's politics to it of course."

Reed added he doesn't even have a television with cable in his house and is more into the outdoors, so it was serendipitous that he landed a role as a Dancing with the Stars celebrity two-stepper.
"They knocked on my door and said they were interested in putting me on the show," he told Kimmel. "My manager got a hold of me and said, 'Are you interested?' I said, 'Well, I'm not really into reality TV.'"
However once he started competing Reed caught the attention of the show's judges due to his "exuberance" and "joy," and his short Dancing with the Stars stint didn't sour him on dancing.
"Actually, I think I'm going to keep it up just for the physical [aspect]," Reed told Kimmel. "It cuts you up. I went down two pants sizes doing it."
