The Bachelor bachelorette Alexe Godin has explained why she wasn't there for a large portion of the matador-themed group dad in Madrid.

After nearly winning the mechanical bull-riding competition during the group date in Madrid, Alexe seemed to disappear during the afterparty.

The 27-year-old pediatric speech therapist from New Brunswick, Canada, therefore took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, February 18 to explain her absence.

"For everyone asking why I wasn't there on the date: I was concussed so I went to bed early," Alexe shared.

Alexe also posted a selfie in which the brunette beauty was frowning.

Alexe was a frontrunner from the start of The Bachelor's 29th season.

Grant gave Alexe the coveted First Impression Rose on Night 1 of the process, and she also accompanied The Bachelor star on his first one-on-one date of the season.

On The Bachelor episode that aired Monday, February 17, Alexe and seven other women competed for Grant's time and affection in Madrid.

The women rode donkeys and then learned some matadora skills.

When it became time for Alexe to ride the mechanical bull, she held on a very long time by leaning forward on her stomach and clutching the bull's horns with her hands.

Considering most bachelorettes were thrown off the bull and had rough landings, this could have been the cause of Alexe's injury.

Alexe unfortunately didn't even win the bull-riding contest, as Zoe McGrady copied her technique and ended up staying on the bull longer.

The ABC broadcast featured Alexe walking into the afterparty that evening, but she wasn't shown having any alone time with Grant.

Alexe either wasn't there for this part of the night or producers edited out her chat with Grant since there was so much drama happening between Carolina Sofia and Juliana Pasquarosa.

Alexe was also missing once all of the women gathered on the couch to hear whom Grant was going to give the group-date rose.

However, Alexe returned for the cocktail party preceding the fourth Rose Ceremony of the season.

Grant gave Alexe a rose and ultimately chose to eliminate Parisa Shifteh and Natalie Phillips.

Rose Sombke also left that night in Madrid, but she chose to quit after Carolina had damaged her blossoming relationship with Grant by sharing details of the women's off-camera conversation.

Alexe opened up about her one-on-one date with Grant at the Beverly Center, during which Grant played the piano and performed an original song for the bachelorette, during a recent episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

Alexe shared with the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt how Grant was very "emotionally mature" while filming Season 29.

"He's definitely handsome and attractive -- my type physically. The one thing I was concerned about -- and it wasn't anything on him, it was more of a 'me' thing -- it was that I'm not super romantic. It's something I always struggled with," Alexe explained.

"He came off very romantic and very intentional. So I was like, 'Okay, let's go into [our first date] with an open mind because opposites attract. He can bring the romantic out of me.'"

For their first date, Grant and Alexe played games, jumped on beds, made a giant ice cream sundae, and more. And at one point, Grant sat Alexe down at a piano and sang her a song he had written himself.

The lyrics of Grant's song included, "I know I need you, I breathe you. I will never let you go."

Alexe recalled, "I am not romantic, and [when] he was singing to me, I was like [tense]."

Alexe apparently felt a little awkward and uncomfortable while Grant was serenading her.

"In that moment, I was like, 'Alexe, just be. Someone is singing to you. How nice is that? You've never had that done before. Just enjoy the moment.' That's kind of what was going through my mind," Alexe explained.

"I was also like, 'I'm not used to this.'"

Alexe recalled the interaction with a nervous giggle, and then Serena pointed out how being serenaded on a first date is "intense."

Joe also added how it was probably a difficult situation for Alexe to be in considering she and Grant were just starting out their relationship.

Alexe agreed and noted, "It was the first one-on-one, guys! And when you don't know the person!"

Alexe suggested she probably would've been more receptive to Grant's sweet song had the pair been allowed more time to get to know one another.

"It's different if it would've been the end of the season and I know him, but it was kind of like, 'Hi Grant, I'm Alexe. Okay, let's sing to each other!'" Alexe quipped.

Even though that part of the date was a little awkward for Alexe, she had a great time overall.

"Grant makes me feel like he sees me and he understands me," Alexe gushed to The Bachelor cameras, adding how she and Grant also bonded over the fact they never had a picture-perfect life.

Grant ended up telling Alexe that he could see a future with her, and he said in a confessional, "When I'm with Alexe, I feel like I'm on top of the world. Tonight, it feels like I'm living in a dream. It's just so romantic. I see something with Alexe. She's a kid at heart, and I'm the same way, and so I feel a connection."
