In the end, America decided to save Josh in what many viewers would call a shocking result since Ali and Christian were both powerhouse vocalists. They were therefore ousted with Brendan Fletcher and Aaron Gibson, the two artists who had received the fewest number of votes following Monday night's performance show.
On Wednesday, Ali -- who was also dubbed a frontrunner since the start of Season 11 -- talked to Reality TV World about her experience on The Voice and elimination. Below is what she had to say.
Reality TV World: Following Monday night's performance show, what were you anticipating would happen in terms of the results? Did you see yourself making the Final 4? And were you ultimately surprised about the results?
Ali Caldwell: I had no idea what to expect, so I just made sure that I came into my performance and left my all on the stage and did the best that I possibly could and just made sure that I showed the world that this is really my passion and this is what I love to do.
So that's really the only job that I had for Monday. And going into Tuesday, I just had all of the faith and kept praying. I mean, I wasn't expecting the outcome -- whatever the decision was -- but I was just still okay and happy with where I was in the competition.
Whatever happened from the beginning until now, I was so okay with it, and I feel like I did what I had to do here. I'm fine with it and I'm happy and it is what it is.
Reality TV World: How did you feel about your "Instant Save" performance of "Sledgehammer?" And do you think Adam Levine's speech ultimately influenced America to keep Josh, what he said about having something different in the finale other than all powerhouse voices?
Ali Caldwell: I honestly feel a little weird about the decision that was made for my save choice of song, because that was actually a song that I kept putting at the top of my list for me to perform on the show as just, like, a regular performance song.
When they chose it as a save song, I was kind of a little upset, because I felt like that was a strong song for me, and I felt like it would be a great look on the show during the competition.
I mean, it is what it is. I felt really good about my save song. It's a Rihanna song; it's an amazing song. She sounds amazing on it, and it's a very strong song. The lyrics are great, and I mean, I feel like I did it justice. But it's still sad that I ended up going home. It's tough.
Reality TV World: From talking to previously-eliminated contestants this season, I've gathered people thought members of your team were either at an advantage because Miley has a huge, loyal following on social media, or a disadvantage, because she's kind of polarizing and people who don't like her may not vote for her team. What's your perspective on representing "Team Miley?"

Ali Caldwell: I feel like there are people who have their own opinions and thoughts toward Miley, but at the end of the day, I don't think it had anything to do with the results. Because her following is her following, and the world is the world, you know what I mean? They are two different things.
I don't think her following controls the results of what happened last night at all. She's an amazing person. I'm totally behind her 100%. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her, not one bit. She's awesome! And I think the results are what the result is. It was the world's decision -- not her fans, you know? It was her fans, but it was the world's decision.
Reality TV World: Are you rooting for any artist in particular to win the show, or maybe you're anticipating someone specific will win?
Ali Caldwell: Everyone who's still there is amazing, so either way it goes, we're still going to celebrate!
