“We are extremely excited about the acting debut of Tamyra Gray,” said executive producer Jason Katims. “She has done an amazing job in portraying a sensitive character, and we are thrilled that she will be doing an additional three episodes for us.”

Tamyra plays Aisha,” a shy girl with an amazing, powerful voice, who was discovered by Marylin Sudor (Sharon Leal). With Marylin's mentoring, Aisha wins the lead in the school’s production of “Leader of the Pack, The Ellie Greenwich Musical.” But her newfound popularity complicates her life when her controlling boyfriend becomes jealous. Throughout her seven-episode arc, Aisha will find not only her voice in music, but also her voice in life.

Gray is 23 years old and from Atlanta, Georgia. She is represented by 19 Entertainment's Simon Fuller and CAA.

Boston Public is produced by David E. Kelley Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. David E. Kelley is creator/executive consultant; Jason Katims and Jonathan Pontell are executive producers.
