America's Got Talent is getting an all-star spinoff that will debut in early 2019!

The announcement was made as part of the network's unveiling of its 2018-2019 TV schedule.
Not only will Simon executive produce the new spinoff, but he will also serve on the judging panel.
America's Got Talent: The Champions will feature some of the most talented acts from previous seasons of NBC's show as well as memorable and popular acts from international editions. The Got Talent franchise spans 184 countries.
The Champions spinoff will also showcase some of the "wackiest and all-around favorite" contestants from franchise history.
All of these acts will come together to compete for "the ultimate display of talent," according to NBC, and the winning act will receive $1 million.
"I have always wanted to have a competition show for the very best of the best Got Talent acts from around the world," Simon said in a statement.
"The variety and the talents of the acts who enter Got Talent globally are incredible and unbelievable. Since America's Got Talent was where it all started, I'm absolutely delighted to be launching this on NBC."
The variety acts will be of all ages and include singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, magicians, and ventriloquists.
"America's Got Talent dominates the summer by bringing together the world's best Got Talent acts for all ages with unique talents to the forefront," NBC executive Paul Telegdy said in a statement.
"Bringing the best Got Talent competitors together for this winter edition will have these favorites elevating their acts to awe and inspire audiences like never before."
America's Got Talent: The Champions will anchor NBC's schedule of sophomore shows like A.P. Bio and Good Girls as well as launch additional shows from its crop of pilots. The exact day and time of its premiere will be announced at a later date.

America's Got Talent: The Champions is being produced by Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia North America. In addition to Simon, the other executive producers are Sam Donnelly, Jason Raff, Trish Kinane and Richard Wallace.
As for the upcoming thirteenth season of America's Got Talent this summer, the show is scheduled to premiere Tuesday, May 29. The NBC series has also been renewed for broadcast in 2019.
As previously announced, World of Dance and The Voice will also return next year.
