America's Got Talent determined the remaining six of its 12 eighth-season finals acts during Wednesday night's live broadcast of the NBC reality talent competition series.

Branden James, Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team, KriStef Brothers, Jimmy Rose, and Kenichi Ebina were revealed to have finished as the Top 5 vote-getters after Tuesday night's performance show which featured the last 12 of the season's 24 semifinalist acts performing for home viewer votes, automatically earning them a spot in the finals.

American Military Spouses Choir, John Wing, Illusionist Leon Etienne and Romy Low, Marty Brown, and Timber Brown had received the five lowest home viewer vote totals from the performance show and will not be advancing.

The announcements then left America's Got Talent judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Melanie "Mel B" Brown, and Howard Stern with the task of deciding which of the two acts that had received the sixth and seventh highest vote totals -- Anna Christine or D'Angelo and Amanda -- should become the sixth act to advance to the finals.

"This is awful because I love both of you guys. You truly are amazing and superstars. [D'Angelo and Amanda], you two dance like grownups. You're spot on. And you, [Anna], have the most beautiful voice and it is so hard. I want both of you to go through. I'm going to choose you D'Angelo and Amanda, and I'm so sorry [Anna], I love you too!" Heidi explained.

"This is awful! D'Angelo and Amanda, from the very, very get-go, you have been on-point technically, everything. Last night, like I said, I didn't really love the start of your performance, but I did love the water. You are very, very professional and you're just brilliant," Mel B. said.

"Anna Christine, your voice is just incredible. You got off to a shaky start, but last night, you just owned it -- absolutely owned it. That's why I'm so torn, because I do think that you've both done your best. But I want to go with Anna Christine."

"I have to point out how young both of these acts are. You guys have been extraordinary. As far as I'm concerned, you're both on par," Howard told the acts.

"It's a really ridiculous choice, [especially] with these young kids who feel all this pressure. I hope you're letting loose and having a childhood also. I really do, because you guys dress like grownups, you act like grownups. Sometimes I wish you'd just get out there and hit a ball or something. I love both these acts. I'm going to go with Anna Christine."

Howie then had the opportunity to send Anna Christine through to the finals or create a tie.

"This is like the America's Got Talent version of Sophie's Choice. You're both wonderful and you're great and how do you compare apples and oranges? It's like a difference between jam and jelly. I have to go with D'Angelo and Amanda, I gotta!" Howie noted.

The 2-2 tie was then broken via America's vote, as more home viewers voted to send D'Angelo and Amanda to the finals. America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon announced only 0.5% of the vote separated the two acts in the standings.

Next week's America's Got Talent broadcast will feature the 12 finalist acts taking the stage: Branden James, Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team, D'Angelo and Amanda, Jimmy Rose, Kenichi Ebina, KriStef Brothers, Cami Bradley, Collins Key, Forte, Innovative Force, Taylor Williamson, and Catapult Entertainment.
