FOX has announced that second season of "American Idol" will conclude with a two-part live grand finale Tuesday, May 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape Delayed) and Wednesday, May 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape Delayed) on FOX. Tuesday evening's show will feature the final competition performances between the two finalists. Wednesday's final episode will reveal the results of America's votes and the next American Idol. The two-night concert spectacular will be broadcast from the Universal Amphitheatre in Hollywood, CA.

On Tuesday, May 20, tune in to the final competition as each of the two finalists perform songs and face the "American Idol" judges' critiques. Immediately following the live Tuesday episode, the toll-free "American Idol" phone lines will open and viewers can vote for their favorite contestant(s) until 11:00 PM ET/PT, subject to time zone restrictions. Viewers may call 1-866-IDOLS-01 or 1-866-IDOLS-02 to cast their vote(s) for their favorite finalist. "American Idol" viewers may also use text messaging from their AT&T Wireless phones to vote for their favorite contestants.

The dramatic results of the voting will be revealed during the two-hour finale Wednesday, May 21. The concert spectacular will feature the American Idol finalists performing on stage together once again and will include multiple medleys of America's favorite songs. As the excitement builds, the cameras will go backstage to view the finalists as they prepare for the announcement of the next American Idol. Once the voting results are announced, the American Idol will perform his/her first single.

The American Idol will win a major recording contract from RCA Records as well as a management contract from 19 Management.
