The producers of Fox TV's "American Idol" Tuesday announced two more auditions seeking contestants in Greensboro, N.C., and Las Vegas.

"Idol" auditions planned for Memphis were canceled after the city took on residents displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Producers had said they did not want to add to the burden already placed on city services by bringing thousands of "Idol" hopefuls into Memphis.

The North Carolina auditions will be Oct. 3 at the Greensboro Coliseum and a week later at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Zap2it.com reported Tuesday.

Other previously announced audition sites were San Francisco, Austin, Texas, Boston, Denver and Chicago.

The fifth season of "American Idol" makes its bow on Fox TV in January.
